I voted.

I stood two hours in line to do so, too.  They had plenty of voting machines, all of which claimed to be working (I need to go view the precinct-by-precinct stuff to feel better about that, though) but only two to check in voters.  Now, that might have been enough, but the people doing the checking in were pacing themselves, so there were often empty voting machines.  Since Spouse needed to get to work, that was a bit annoying.

But anyway, my vote is cast, and the election results are in, and we all know about that.

Here's the part that frightened me: the faces in the crowd when McCain started his concession speech.  We have our first black president!  We have a Democrat congress!  Now we just have to keep him alive and the country in one piece.  For those Republicans thinking to go to Canada, as I have pondered myself after some of the last few elections, well, research the place first.  See what's up there.  Check out the economic system.

Anyway, it's November 5, so I suppose we're all supposed to stop talking about politics for another four years, eh?

Sunny had a profile of tests done this morning, blood and urine samples, so she can stay on the meds that keep her pain-free and cheerful.  She was a good girl about it all, and even went to the back nicely with the tech when she was supposed to.  Usually she sticks to me.  We'll have results on Friday.  The vet sneaked in an off-the-bill examination of the foreleg which drags and the armpit that used to have a tumor in it.  Apparently the former looks good and the latter is nice and flat.  This makes the third vet poking, prodding, having a quizzical look at the chart and saying "I give up.  Where is it?"  Soft-tissue sarcomas don't usually vanish, in the vets' experience.  It makes them curious.  Luckily Sunny is well-adjusted and doesn't mind a little poking.

I have a paint brush drying in the other room as I type this.  That might be something to take care of.
