Getting things done?

Oct 11, 2008 14:00

I picked up nuts for a while this morning.  One plastic shopping bag of iffy pecans (I should have started doing this last week, before it started raining) and one of black walnuts.  There are probably three more bags of black walnuts available if I choose to collect them.  Once that's done, I mean to rake under the trees to remove all the things that made nut-gathering difficult this year, perhaps work in some fertilizer, and try to KEEP it raked so next year's nuts will be easier.  The ground rake gathers nuts very well.  It also gathers honeysuckle vines, sticks, twigs, large leaves, and any number of other things I don't really want.

So: if you have a protocol and recipe for black walnuts, post here!

Otherwise -- I actually turned on this machine meaning to write.  So far it's all been AIM and this post, silly me.  I think it's the longish pause in writing the long story that has me worried -- at some point I will have to reread in order to remember where I was going, and what if I don't like it?  But I did before, so probably still will.  I don't seem to have that retrospective-suckage thing that so many of you have written about.  More likely I'll say, "Wow, I don't remember writing this.  Cool."  I'm not a hypercritical reader if nobody's asked me to be.  I don't ask me to be very often.

P.S.  I just edited in my tags and got the list of past taggies: wtf?  Turnipseed?
