Columbus: the good

The weekend was relatively good and relaxing. It was great to see friends and parents again :).

On friday I just kinda chilled when I got there and talked to my parents. On saturday I bounced around campus a bit, talked politics with Johnny Go's and some idiots at Buckeye Donuts that were claiming people should, because they have citizenship, be fully dedicated to the country of their citizenship, regardless of past. Much fun was had.

Then had a wonderful dinner at my parents' place with Ben (Jen couldn't show up, she was sick :( ). Talked about changing careers and making the middle east a gigantic lake. Once again, fun was had.

Hung out with Ryan (THE JEW) later that night and had random shenanigans at Steak and Shake and just hanging around. He showed me some new music ideas, and showed that he could play Chopin. Choppily. Got home WAY too late (2 AM, should have left earlier).

Got up ridiculously early on sunday to have breakfast with Evetastic at the wonderful establishment of CRACKER BARREL. Caught up on the latest gossip about Abercrombie and Fitch and their goings-on. We stumbled around Microcenter afterwards, drooling over laptops and gadgets we don't need, but desire so much. This was followed with a more wholesome trip to the Franklin Park Conservatory:

nice leaved plant:

Beautiful glass/brass orchid sculpture. The flowers looked very real.

this one's for Kit, the reptile lover :)

There was an exposition of this installation art made of intertwining twigs, sticks, and vines. The sculptures were absolutely breathtaking (the sculptures, not Eve's butt):

beautiful water lilies:

ahhh, the beauty of nature:

After that, we went to Schmidt's Sausage haus with Justin (recommend by a vegetarian, yours truly). Food was had, with a dosage of fun and whining about our respective jobs :p. We browsed the Book Loft for a bit, and had to restrain Justin from buying too many books (along with moi, but I have no money). Then we saw Clerks II, which was way way way better than I expected. The donkey show had me rolling. Very much recommended :). Hung out at Justin's new apartment afterwards.

Left early this morning to get back in time for "the bad"
