Putting on the pilot until it's 4. It's my favorite ep of S1.

The Pilot is a GREAT episode, I say that about every episode though. My opinion is slightly biased.

I've been writing this ridiculously long thing that covers all of season one and decided that I loved the Pilot (and Chad and a lot of other things, aka, all things), and then eps 2,3 and 4 were not that great until ep 5 and then the greatness doesn't stop.

I agree, the Pilot is great, then shit starts to get serious from episode 5.

I can't wait to read this ridiculous long thing, I hope you post it!!!!

The Pilot (so far) is my favorite episode. As a standalone it works perfectly.

The plan is to post it and I hope I finish it.

I really like 1x08 "We can't win", because I think sending Anna to the UN Summit, and seeing how she was received by the General Secretary, especially since he seemed sceptical about her and her intentions, was brilliant.
And I really like John May, and Red Sky.
Those are my three favourites.

Yay :)

We Can't Win and Heretic's Fork are really good at making The Fifth Column dark. But the back half of season one is on a roll. It just doesn't stop being good and only gets better. And somewhere along the way I started to realize that Chad shoots so close to the top at being a favorite character.

Really? Slimy, no qualms Chad Decker?
I don't hate him, I've even decided to give him a second chance, because he could turn out to be spectacular in season 2 if he decides to be a "double agent" (and not a Christine 2.0).

Yes. Slimy, no qualms Chad Decker. I was surprised by how much my mind changed for a lot of things when I rewatched season one over and over and over again.

What changed your mind?
I sort of felt after watching the episodes again (several times) that Chad wasn't evil, he started off clueless and slightly opportunistic, then he got curious and sceptical, then he didn't know who to trust, so he tried to play a double game, favouring Anna.
Then the finale happened, and I think he's going to switch to the Fifth Column, and it'll be hard for him, because nobody apart from Father!J is going to welcome him.

Hahaha. Well. All of that. His position makes him valuable to both Anna and the Fifth Column. I don't think he's evil either and that will make all his choices that much more interesting. I know he'll be written to cave and follow through with both sides before any concrete choice will be made and I want to see that.
