His going back to ZAFT was pointless.Pointless! It's done nothing but dredge out the plot, and give us the same dynamics that were present in SEED. But what makes his turn in Destiny worse is that he's already learnt all this before. What was the point of making him go back, if not to recycle an old and outdated plot twist? I cannot see his return to ZAFT as anything good; the "difference" he wanted to make has yet to appear. Some part of me really does think that they sent him back to ZAFT specifically for that freakin harem.

XD Since you wanted me to touch on the Athrun subject, Mel, I did =P

It really was pointless, at least so far. He's achieved nothing in all his time in ZAFT except attract a couple of mindless fangirls who tripped over him and got all bitchy and hostile towards each other trying to get into his pants. And now he's going back to ORB. If the writers were planning for him to go back to ORB all along, why bother making him go back to ZAFT? Going there did him no good, it only made him into a resentful high and mighty prick.

But I'm thinking maybe since he went there for information on Gilbert, maybe, just maybe, his going to ZAFT will have a point? Because obviously Athrun learns something very big in episode 35 that makes him lose faith in Gil, so maybe this information will be useful and helpful to ORB/Lacus's side?
