Apologies to those who remember this place fondly, and still enjoy coming back, but I fucking hate this place.
Anyway, I figured I should start updating this again, since I have regular/extended computer access again, albeit on my mom's computer(yes, mine is still broken).
So I thought I'd start off with a rundown of the shit I've been putting up with.
-I'm home for like maybe a weekend to find out I'm already on the work schedule for a five day week, to be followed by a six day week.
-The first thing that happens to me upon arriving home is that my brother asks me if I brought his bass and video games back, and if so, can he have them back. I later find out that the reason he wanted his bass back so quickly, the bass he never really learned how to play, and let sit in his room for like 2 years, is because he traded it for an electric guitar. Because, you know, he won't have any problems learning how to play that. Dumbass.
-I already hate going to work. Usually it takes a little longer. But you see, my brother and his friend Jei(and as if the spelling weren't strange enough, his name's actually Justin) are fucking annoying as hell. And they do as little work as possible. Which explains why they wanted me back at work so quickly. But seriously, at least three times last week, I got out an hour later than I could have, basically because they were fucking around. And apparently I'm both a fairy and a prude. At least that's what's gotten back to me, anyway. Awesome.
-Alisha can pretty much never stay the night because her dad is stupid like that.
-I have/will miss out on seeing Gang of Four, The Faint/Bright Eyes, Thievery Corporation, The Decemberists, and LCD Soundsystem, all because I couldn't get off work. Not that I could have gone to all of them anyway, but I at least thought I would be able to get to a couple. But nope. Wasn't able to get off for any of them. And if I were still in Ann Arbor, I could have gone to all of them, and still went to work the next day. Fucking a.
-I miss so many people more than I can possibly say. I miss Ann Arbor. I miss record stores and comic book shops. I miss being able to walk places. I miss more than I can let myself think about at one time.
Sigh. Oh well. It hasn't been all bad. Alisha and I have been hanging out a lot, utilizing the hot tub, watching Law and Order(when I get home in time to watch it, anyway), being in town. I've been taking advantage of the library's media system to get some new/old music, and to replace some of my collection I can't listen to until I fix my computer. I bought The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou for $18, which was pretty sweet. I got a great ATHF shirt. I've been reading the Harry Potter books for a week or so, primarily because I told Alisha I would, but they're fun, so hey. I've gotten to spend more time with Alisha's mom and stepdad...they're cool kids. And her mom has the most amazing button collection. I want some of those buttons so badly.
Things I'm looking forward to:
-Spending every penny of my first paycheck on things I don't need, for myself...this friday.
-Getting enough money to fix my computer.
-Being in Ann Arbor the 3rd and 4th of June(and there had better be a reception in my honor, damn it).
-Seeing Kraftwerk the 3rd.
-Scouring this town for something to make it worthwhile.
P.S. That was obviously compressed. Reminder to self: do not compress two weeks into one lj post.
P.P.S. Hey Nate...concerning your phone message, I just bought vol. 9 and 10 of Ultimate Spider-Man, and I'm getting 11-13 on my next paycheck...and I'll bring them all when I come down. That just happened to be one of the titles I haven't gotten all of yet. If you start reading anything else I haven't gotten everything of, let me know, I'll put it on the list.
