So, as people might have noticed by the marked absence of my posts, I am back in school mode. It has generally gotten easier to deal with, and having friends at school certainly helps. We sometimes go to dinner after class on mondays and on tuesday we have an all-PsyD-student Vampire campaign, which is awesome in just the concept alone. Nonetheless, i am very excited about the snow day tomorrow because I spent the past two days in class from 9-5, barely slept to get my work done for monday, and am already exhausted. That said, I am really glad i took the class. It was a Marriage and Sex Therapy class, and I registered for it out of a vague sense that if I am to go into working with families I should know something about treating sexual problems. It really was enlightening and did a lot to reframe sex for me. i also learned some things about myself, or rather was introduced to terminology to identify things that I've more or less known. More startlingly, I suddenly have a totally new understanding of some things from the past that have puzzled me for years. It is amazing how a little thing like a definition can change perceptions and meaning. All in all a really good class and a very productive weekend in some ways.
