People who dont appriciate classic movies for what they are. I made the mistake of watching psycho for the first time and allowing one of my roommates to watch it as well, even though i knew that either a. she would get bored with it really quickly b. not understand it or c. just talk throughout the entire thing. I unfortunatly ended up having to deal with all three of these actions. I guess i had it coming to me though, i mean this is the girl who said during Shindler's List "This movie is weird, why is that little girl's coat red?"
Anywho, I am watching this all time classic horror film with probibly the most famous horror scene ever made and all she can say is "Geez, this movie is sooooooo boring! God! Im soooooooo bored, what is even going on?" It didnt help much either when her boy flavor of the week said "yeah, even flight plan was better than this." OH DEAR GOD CAN I PLEASE SHOOT YOU BOTH IN THE FACE!!! The door is only five feet away, if you are not enjoying the movie, please feel free to leave, i wont be affended, infact i would be most pleased by it!
I believe the thing that made me most frustrated with watching this was how in the end, she didnt understand it. Didnt understand how someone can act like that and all the while i was screaming in my head...THE TITLE OF THE MOVIE IS PSYCHO, THEREFORE HE'S PSYCHOTIC, WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED TO KNOW???? She had no appriciation of how abstract and frightning this film was toward the first audience that saw it in the fifties. The idea of not only a multiple personality disorder, but the whole idea of living as two people and talking, living and believing this corpse. Its frightning to think about.
I just dont like people who only see film as a form of wasting time and dont see the true artistic side of the medium.
PS-Yes my title is a joke from family guy.
