The cybernetics enhancing her brain ensures that the third woman to bear the name Black Canary never forgets a thing and that’s just fine with her because she never wants to forget what it was like to kiss Nightstar for the first time.

While the two young women are unpacking inside their new apartment, they open a box revealing a childhood picture and reminisce about simpler times.

Black Canary’s legs pump as she moves, knowing she has only minutes before it will be too late to save Nightstar.

Mar’i has always been a cauldron of heated passions, and Olivia is never more reminded of this than when they are in bed together.

Mar’i and Olivia understand each other better than most, both of them being cut off from the rest of humanity because only half of them is part of it.

Nightstar and Black Canary do not need any kind of ceremony to tell them what’s in their hearts, but it would be nice to get married in a church.

When Olivia first touched Mar’i, she was convinced the Tamaranean hybrid was sick because there was just no way a human could be that warm.

The sound Mar’i makes when she hears a good joke is like the tinkling of bells, and Olivia loves it so much she makes as many quips as possible.

Koriand’r was near-incapable of telling a falsehood, but her daughter knows all too well how to deceive, as proven when she tells Black Canary that she doesn’t love her.

Thanks to Nightstar’s Tamaranean blood and Black Canary’s mostly cybernetic body, the two young women will live for a very, very long time, which is a good thing because they intend to spend that time together.
#39 - Overwhelmed
Leadership of the Titans is sometimes very beleaguering for Mar’i, but Olivia’s gentle hands ease her tensions.
#40 - Whisper
Olivia’s voice is conspiratorially low as she speaks into her dark-haired lover’s ear all the wicked things she could do with her tongue.
#41 - Wait
Tamaraneans may be a hot-blooded species, but they are not beyond patience, as Nightstar demonstrates when peeling off Black Canary’s clothes as though she is unwrapping a gift.
#42 - Talk
Their conversations are so free and easy that anyone with half a brain could tell or reasonably assume that they’d spent too long together to be uncertain around one another.

“I’d give up everything just to find you,” Olivia sings from an old song, and Mar’i weeps from the sincerity she hears in her girlfriend’s voice.

It would have been so easy for Nightstar to just give in to the choking darkness in her soul, but a glimpse of flaxen locks was all it took to convince her otherwise.
#45 - Eclipse
The sun is blocked by the moon for this day, and Olivia tries not to overtax Mar’i for fear of exhausting the Tamaranean hybrid’s solar energy reserves.
#46 - Gravity
Olivia wonders what it’s like to be weightless and Mar’i, as though sensing her curiosity, takes her by the hand and shows her.
#47 - Highway
The roads belong to Black Canary and her motorcycle, her motorcycle that happens to have a very delectable half-alien girl sitting behind her and holding her close.
#48 - Unknown
While most of Mar’i’s extended family is obsessed with planning for everything, Mar’i herself enjoys not knowing how everything is going to turn out, as that’s how she and Olivia keep their relationship going.
#49 - Lock
All it took was a gentle kiss from Mar’i . . . and Olivia’s heart was completely unfettered, only for her to willingly bind it to the girl who touched her so.
#50 - Breathe
The rise and fall of Nightstar’s chest as she sleeps proves to her still-wakeful Canary that she is very much alive.
