vanyei, you selected the following three cards, in this order, that represent your

past, present and future:

The Magician

Approximately 80% people who pick The Magician in the second position say that it accurately matches what's happening at the present time. The Magician represents the primary influence on the current state of your life. Right now, in your present, you have the opportunity to unleash your creativity in some area of your life. It's up to you to construct your own truth, and the Magician is a sign that you are fully capable of doing so. Something great is in the works in your life, as a direct result of a situation you've created. Beware the pitfalls of indecision. Instead, exert your will, ask for what you need from others, and allow your creation to be revealed.

The second card in the Major Arcana, the Magician is creative and imaginative. In this card, the Magician points his ward toward the heavens and his other hand toward the earth. His tools are laid out on the table-a cup, a sword, a wand, and a pentacle (a five-pointed star)-representing the suits in the Minor Arcana. The infinity sign hovers over his head, representing the never-ending flow of life. The red of the roses symbolize passion, and the white of the lilies represent intellect. The Magician is a sign that you can create your own reality, and that something exciting is developing. With this card, if you ask for what you need to reach your full potential, you most likely will receive it.

There are a number of ways this card could be playing out right now. Some possibilities include:
  • You may be enjoying a new romance or chapter in your relationship that better fits your idea of a happy and healthy union.
  • Perhaps you're using a creative new investment plan or budget that you hope will bring you greater financial freedom.
  • You may be going on a new diet or exercise regimen.

The Hermit

79% of people who are dealt The Hermit in the first position say that it accurately represents their past. The Hermit exerted a significant impact on your past. This means that in your past, you were at a turning point that required a careful decision. The Hermit card in this position is a sign that you were likely able to apply your hard-earned wisdom and maturity to your soul-searching, and that you had a clear idea of which direction to follow. This experience, and the reactions it elicited from others, brought you to the point you're at today.

The Hermit is the tenth card in the Major Arcana, and is earnestly requesting that you turn inward to seek your personal truth. On the card he stands alone on the peak of a snowy mountain, waiting to share his hard-won wisdom with those who pass by. The Hermit is alone on his path, but he is not sad or lonely. At this stage in life's process, you have gained wisdom through your experiences and you have the ability to make your own decisions. The Hermit represents the exchange of wise counsel, openness to others, and the need for patience and reflection when coming to conclusions.

This card may have affected the overall tenor of your life, or just a particular area. Following are a few possibilities of how you experienced these influences in your past:
  • You may have had to rely on your unusual maturity to make tough decisions about how closely you wanted to be connected to some or all of your family.
  • In your social life, you may have been the friend who offered advice or steered another friend away from the wrong path.
  • You may have had to make careful decisions about who you could have a romantic relationship with, perhaps having to reject potential suitors or end an existing relationship that wasn't fulfilling.

The Hierophant

This card is the strongest indicator of what your future will hold. Your future, as it currently stands, is represented by the third card you chose. The Hierophant is a sign that you'll soon be facing a dilemma over whether or not to put the good of your community over your own desires. You may be asked to make decisions out of respect for tradition, or for the good of the group over yourself as an individual. When an opportunity presents itself, try not to allow conformity to cloud your judgment, but understand that you may need to make concessions if you want approval.

The Hierophant is the sixth card in the Major Arcana. He blesses the two priests who are kneeling at his feet. Between the priests are a pair of crossed keys, signaling the unity of heaven and earth. In his clothing, each color is highly symbolic: a red robe representing the empire of earth, the white trim for purity, and his gold triple crown representing the kingdom of heaven. This card represents tradition and the pressure to conform. The Hierophant is the educator, seeking to communicate a common religious or philosophical viewpoint in a common language all people can understand. The Hierophant also rules marriage, public education, and traditional medicine. He signifies the need for approval, as well as the need for social values.

More than any other step of life's journey, this card represents the lessons you must learn and the experiences in store for you in your upcoming karmic destiny. This may impact you in any number of ways, including:
  • A moment in which you'll have to decide how much you're willing to sacrifice for love.
  • A work situation in which you may need to conform to the expectations of others in order to achieve approval.
  • A situation in which your family asks you to do something you'd prefer not to, out of respect for tradition.
