(*sigh*) Fall break... fall break...? We're getting monday and tuesday off as "fall break". Though we're in the middle of midterms, so yeah looks like 70% of my dorm's still here (=▽=;). But eh I shouldn't complain. WAY better than nothing! And the professors have all pretty much given up any of us are doing any work XD
Anyways! On friday I finally went to Little Tokyo -it's apparently a 20 minute drive from where I live (have to pass 2 of the most crowded freeways though). I walked around a bit and also got to check out the Kinokuniya there. Those of use in southern California or L.A. area, I think Costa Mesa is better XD. The stores at Little Tokyo aren't bad at all -and heck, WAY better than nothing. The Little Tokyo Kinokuniya just didn't seem to have as much variety & stock as the bookstores in Costa Mesa. And parking! Forget finding a decent space to park in L.A (==;). So after Little Tokyo I ended up going to Costa Mesa too XD. We're so spoiled down there -Sanseido, Kinokuniya and Book Off for bookstores, and at least 3 major Japanese supermarkets.
(as a totally unrelated note, I wish Kinokuniya'd not always put those big price stickers on books, they're hard to get off cleanly..)
While at Costa Mesa I picked up Death Note vol.13 (the final and "How to Read" volume). I'd totally forgotten it was this month it went on sale (・・;) (why'd I think it was December?). And come to think of it, it's pretty impressive that they had Death Note the same day it went on sale in Japan. Let me tell you this volume is DENSE. It's like reading a novel -even more so than the rest of the series (==;). My neck hurt after reading it a while. Major spoilers too-they include the date of death for all the characters. The interwiews were really cool though. And L's real name~☆
To those of us in L.A. : is it just me or is somewhere on the 5 freeway always under construction? I mean, do they re-pave every year?! Last saturday was out of their hands though. As of 2AM there were at least 3 major crash sites -major as in multi-vehicle, charred and mangled and crushed and flipped over cars, and alot of debre around the place (...someone definitely was severely wounded at each of those sites...). Drive safely everyone ... (*shudders)
