Thanks to 'National Theatre Live' I got to see 'Hamlet' yesterday, the one with Benedict Cumberbatch currently going on in the Barbican in London.
I heard about it about 3 months ago, and they only had 3 or 4 dates available, so we got tickets for the Monday night streaming (mostly because my boyfriend had school this weekend and we couldn't go then). It was at 20:00 and I ended up getting home at midnight, so not the greatest idea, but it was so worth it. I loved it! I had never seen any production of 'Hamlet' before, so it was something new for me. Cumberbatch did an amazing job as Hamlet, and the music was incredible. I really enjoyed it. :D
I'm starting to settle at my new place at work, I've decorated the walls with old calendars. Basically it's London all over, with a few pictures from somewhere else. I love it. <3 I've grown used to the noise and will start working with my colleagues on the new HR portal soon.
I'm currently reading Sword Art Online and I'm liking it. It's quite an interesting story, about virtual reality players that get stuck in a game, with no chance of going out unless they beat all the 100 floors of the game. If they die in the game they die in real life, so things are quite harsh. It's great science fiction, and the writing it's so easy going. I've also set apart a book at a bookstore close to work, 'Mr. Holmes', and I'll pick it up at lunch. There was a movie about it with Ian McKellen, but I thought it was just based on the regular Sherlock Holmes story. And then yesterday, when I met my boyfriend for dinner before the theatre screening, he told me it was actually a book. Since I love everything Sherlock Holmes and I have many books written about the character that are not Doyle stories, I just had to get it for my collection. :D
Oh, I'm also planning on making a translation test to work fot the UN. They will do the tests around June or July, and I just want to see how hard it is. I don't expect to pass it this time, I don't think I have the experience enough just yet, but I'd like to know how good or bad I am for UN standards so I can prepare better for future exams, and maybe one day work for the UN. It's something I've always thought of doing... but maybe later in life, after more translation experience. So I'll just measure it up this time, and I'll know what I need to improve for later. :D
