Is her voice still distinct?uxoriousemperorNovember 26 2009, 00:24:11 UTC
I will have two decades with my son. Knowing that there is such a finite period of time in which he will be part of my life is not exactly a comforting thought. He is my heir as well as my son. He was to have inherited the empire upon my death.
And now I see how Ferdinand would have arrived at that position instead.
Hee! He's prolly not gonna mention the oddity because he won't want to be rudeuxoriousemperorNovember 26 2009, 03:53:01 UTC
Precisely. It is also difficult in that I do not know the particulars of the event. There are many things that could have led to my son's death, even at so young an age. But I have not gathered the courage to ask Elisabeth the particulars just yet.
Franz is good at ignoring the obvious^^uxoriousemperorNovember 26 2009, 23:30:40 UTC
Would it be possible to change such a thing? It occurred - will occur - for my wife. She has already experienced it. How can one change something that another has already experienced?
I wish to know the particulars. I am sure that when I return home to Vienna I will forget them, but here, for now, it may give me some piece of mind. I am at a loss to understand how the boy would have died so young.
He's special like that^^uxoriousemperorNovember 27 2009, 04:13:19 UTC
An alternate world? The very idea is difficult to grasp. How could things occur for Elisabeth and yet not for me? Which would be the correct sequence of events? If it were to happen, would Elisabeth be in my alternate world, or would she be missing from it, as she had experienced events differently? The mind boggles in the attempt to rationalize such a thing.
And this could be a common occurrence? Do you know anyone for whom this has happened?
Yeah, I imagine that any alternate timeline will have the same people but it would be difference in the choices made or the road taken. The City has often showed me what would have been of me if I took another choices or if I was born under different circumstances.
There are a lot of theories. The library has many books about these studies.
Whatever changes in this "alternate" lives is a choice that sets a chain of event, or something bigger. I guess Elisabeth will be Elisabeth and your son will be your son, all depending the change isn't too big.

That's one unfortunate side effect of this place.
