Promotion!

I figure it's time to make another post about what I've been up to. The big thing is that I got promoted at work. Our company is a small (~60 people, counting co-op students) programming shop in Toronto, and I'm a programmer and now team lead. I can't legally say too much about what we work on, but the general description is that my team is involved in two different 3D mapping and planning projects that are both contracted by an American company with offices in Pittsburgh and Huntsville, AL. The two projects are related but have enough differences that it's been too much for one person to manage, so when Peter leaves the company in less than two weeks, one co-worker is taking over one project and I'm leading the other. I hope it goes well; I understand our software well and work well with the other people on my team, but I don't have much experience leading, and none in a work context.

What else is new? We bought some patio furniture on sale on Saturday (which was extremely difficult to fit into a Honda Civic; it took us two trips to get it home) and I got to assemble it. It's still sitting in the garage though, since Jen's worried it might still snow.

I also got a new piece of audio software and hardware that will help me when playing live. The software organizes the sounds of any other software plugins and lets you combine and mix them easily in a performance situation, and the hardware is a controller to help you pick the sounds you want and morph between them.

Lastly, I think you'll all like this (and no, Jinx, it's not a rickroll, I promise!)
