Well, the eye surgery this past Thursday was efficient, relatively fast, and with notable caregiving by the provider. They deserve an A+ for follow-through. Unfortunately, I did suffer a small hemmorage and my left eye looks like it's ruined. Not so. It was uncomforable the first night, which didn't matter. My sleep cycle was ruined months ago by dry eye, the result of eyestrain. In two weeks all should be healed and I can start exercising again.
My work is backed up but they're going to have to suffer along with me and wait. The healing is advancing well, enough so that I am able to write this without wincing. The real wince will come if the Health Care provider challenges the claim. I just want them to pay it and forget me so life can move on.
The cabal in Washington, whom I swore off writing about many months ago, is a crime-spree runaway snowball heading downhill, with multiple gaffs occurring each month now. The sheeple are so indifferent it will take a major problem to get them to pay any heed to what's going on at this point. After reviewing reports by engineers, videos, and open discussion, I'm now convinced the WTC/Pentagon disaster was either staged or allowed in order to pull off a power grab. I see a new government within a few years, and I certainly hope things settle down at that time without much of a trauma for the country. The media is now Pravda-esque. It's funny, I read the blogs and get the news days and weeks before the billionaire-owned "liberal" media reports it, if at all. Our mounting problems with energy, job loss, and debt are being ignored, and the future greatly disconcerts me.
Life has been pre-occupied with resolving my health issues, so I have no adventures to report. Most of my experiences of late have involved helpful people making life endurable. A lot of community information has been surfacing lately, and my involvement, though minimal, will hopefully make a difference in the coming year or two. The island is bouncing around ideas for protecting our infrastructure from tsunamis, an inevitable problem that has not been addressed adequately. Also, our water system is less than healthy, so I'm now drinking bottled water at all times.
Business is slow at present, due to my inattention to work orders. This is a direct result of my partial blindness that has been increasingly problematic the past three months.
Aside from my first feelings of "island fever", there is nothing new to report. However, most people take vacations from time to time away from their home areas regardless of their location. I've ignored this for well over a year. The trip to Montana/Wyoming/Idaho in October of 2004 is now long past and it is definitely time for another adventure. An internet friend recently put off an interesting Utah hike/camping trip that was scheduled for this May, and that was my only planned outing for the next year. Perhaps next October a trip to New York to see my sister will be possible.
