Marcus walked with care over the fallen rock. But he knew this was a hard time and was he going to fight with Viktor or was he and his hybrid ass going to have to take Rigel and fight for the Vampire alone as out casts ( Read more... )

(Eh, I’m a little lost here with all the new Ocs, so I hope my post isn’t OOC)

Where was Kraven? The elder realized the boy was missing when he finally reached the underground chambers of Ordoghaz. He left an exasperated sigh, Kraven was in trouble again, for sure. Whenever Viktor didn’t know where the younger vampire was, Kraven was stirring up trouble. Willingly or not… Why couldn’t he just do as he was told for once?

He almost reached the door that was leading back to the surface, but stopped the last moment. No, he was in public now and he couldn’t go out to look for him. Not while so many pairs of eyes were set on him. Viktor realized that of all the vampires around him, not a single warrior could be found. They were all too scared.

What a disappointment…

Viktor tapped his foot, he hated having to do that, but it seemed that he had to reassure them that everything would be all right. Comfort them…

It was then that a man was practically tossed before his feet. A mortal? A… priest?

"Mortals did this!"

Viktor raised he eyes from the passed out man to look at Kraven. A very enraged Kraven. Although the Elder only managed to give him a quizzical look before a very tall blond man entered the underground chambers searching for… lady Amelia? Viktor rolled his eyes. He didn’t have the time or the patience to deal with every vampire who had been gone for years and returned to find everything changed.

“Later… Jared, isn’t it?” he said nodding to the man to raise. At last, a man who hadn’t forgotten of proper manners… “We’re in the middle of a crisis here…”

“Explain yourself!” he commanded Kraven. “You say my house was attacked by mortals?” he asked scornfully. That was ridiculous… The man before his feet might as well have fainted from his fear…

(ooc: oy! evil mun!)

"Explain yourself! You say my house was attacked by mortals?”

Kraven wilted but stayed kneeling as Viktor snapped at him. "This mortal confessed it him and other priests that caused this attack."

The disgrace vampire wondered if he should say that Rigel who'd been holding the mortal. So he inprovised. "The death dealer's captured this one."

Kraven hissed at the stupid unconscious priest, partly becuase he was pissed the mortals, partly because he was worried about Merlynn and partly because he was slighlty miffed the younger priest hadn't said anything about this attack!

As soon as he could, Kraven was going to call the young man and find some answers!

Viktor smirked coldly. So, the mortals knew… All he wanted to know, all he needed to know was that. It was a good start to find them all and exterminate them. To prevent future attacks, to prevent more mortals from knowing about their existence.

“Is he alive?” he murmured to himself, pondering for a few moments. That was certainly something new! Mortals were not supposed to know under any circumstances. Vampires should be considered nothing more than a superstition of the past; it was what had kept them alive up to that point. And now it seemed that they knew enough to plan a whole attack.

“Move the priest to a chamber.” He said in the end. The man looked pretty harmless and… old. There was no point in chaining him in an Ordoghaz dungeon.

Not yet.

His glance turned upon the boy for mere moments. Viktor sighed and remained thoughtful.

“Very well, Kraven of Leicester!” he exclaimed in the end, gesturing for him to stand up. Although he had mixed feelings about the boy for the time being, he couldn’t pass up the opportunity to praise Kraven before so many vampires. It was about time Kraven earned some respect. He’d worked hard for it after all and he deserved it, after so much punishments and humiliations.

“Is he alive?”

"Yes master." he kept glowering at the aged human. Why?! Kraven kept thinking, Why hadn't Merlynn said anything!

“Move the priest to a chamber.”

"Yes master," Kraven repeated, at least it would get him away from the blond that was standing right next to him.

“Very well, Kraven of Leicester!”

Kraven just about fell over as he snapped his head up to look at Viktor then stood at the elder's gesture. Had he really just praised him?!? In front of others?!

The disgraced vampire couldn't stop the shy smile from forming as he dipped his head, "T-thank you master." he quietly answered then gathered the unconscious priest and with a last side long look at Viktor took his charge to his own chamber, since that part of the mansion had been spared the destruction.

It had become in away a guilde cage, let the human reside there, besides when Viktor wanted to "talk" to him, the mortal would be available and Kraven's door was electronically locked. Yes. Let the human reside there.

Kraven, practically floated all the way to his room, he still couldn't believe he'd acutally received praise! From Viktor! Suddenly the destruction around him wasn't as dire as it had been ten minutes ago.

Everything was spinning when Andrew woke up. The floor he was lying on, the ceiling, everything! Damn, why couldn't it all just hold still?! Numbly he brought a hand to his forehead, rubbing his temples. Oh the headache he was getting! At least the priest's shoulder had ceased its bleeding...

Eventually Andrew realized a vampire was watching him, the ebony haired one from before. Fear tightened the good father's throat, but the man didn't seem hostile anymore...

He had a million questions. So many things flooded his brain begging for answers. Finally one question overruled them all, and Andrew asked in a raspy voice, "What's your name?"

(occ: Heh, sorry had to repost, with the more appropriate icon)

He was still smiling as he flopped down into his over stuffed chair, after dropping the priest to the foor.

Kraven kept felt so damn happy, he kept running a finger over his lower lip. Viktor had given him praise! In front of others! Part of his head was elated, the other part was realizing how low he'd sunk, waiting for even a few words of praise.

"Pah!" he didn't care right now, he was happy as he looked but didn't see the mortal on the floor.

Kraven pulled out his new cell, he tried to recall the younger priests phone number. He'd started to dial it when he heard,

"What's your name?"

Kraven scowled, snapped his cell shut and sat forwards in the chair and stared at the mortal. He couldn't help but snarl as he bared his teeth at the wretched priest.

"None of your business, priest." he hissed. The vampire felt his claws enlongate. His ealier fury was rekindling, "You and your kind!" he spat. "You did this!" He got down, crouching low, his felt his eyes change.

"Give a reason priest! One reason why! We've left you alone!" Kraven wanted nothing more than to sink his teeth into this mortal. "Why!" he snarled slowly standing up, his hands clenching and unclenchig.

"Give a reason priest! One reason why! We've left you alone!"

"Oh really?" Andrew replied. He sounded almost cynical. Then again, maybe that's what this kind of work did to one. But still, this vampire couldn't be serious. These demons were no innocents!

"There are plenty of mysterious murders. I've met victims of vampire and lycan attacks. Even our informant brought evidence against your kind. In fact just last week there was a brutal killing with all the right evidence. (ooc: He's talking about Dmitri.) You and the lycans. How can you just say "We've left you alone"?!"

Kraven laughed, was this mortal serious!? He reached down and hauld the simpering human to his feet, getting in his face. "There are never any survivors." he snarled, slowly forcing the priest to walk backwards until he had him pinnned to the wall.

"It's forbidden for vampires to hunt humans, Priest." Kraven cooed with cold calmness. "Lycans are such brutal and messy killers, you should have your facts straight before you start flining acqusation." Kaven wrapped a hand around the mortal's throat. "Now, tell me of this informant, little priestling so you can witness Vampire justice."

"There are never any survivors."

"Of c-c-course there are." Having the vampire right in his face was becoming a bit...unnerving. Very unnerving. "You can't always take c-care of...of everything."

The forbidding and beautiful man pinned him to the wall with that cold gaze which sent shudders down Andrew's spine. "It's forbidden for vampires to hunt humans, Priest."

"D-don't tell me you think every vampire follows the rules?"

"Now, tell me of this informant, little priestling so you can witness Vampire justice."

Andrew gulped as a strong hand wrapped itself around his exposed throat. This monster is going to kill me...if a heartattack doesn't do it first. "It doesn't matter," the good father's voice rasped badly in the vampire's choking grasp. "Her name is--was Selene...and she's dead now, that poor girl. Now I'd like to hear you tell me that vampires don't feed off humans."

"D-don't tell me you think every vampire follows the rules?"

"Rogues are hunted down and dealt with." Kraven haughtly spat, "We Do Not Hunt Humans!" This human would see it wasn't the vampires at fault but the damn lycans!

"Her name is--was Selene...and she's dead now, that poor girl.

Kraven let go. He stumbled back a step, his face in disbelief. "Selene is dead." he echoed flatly. He'd pursued the woman for almost a hundred years, hearing her death was quite unexpected.

His blood pounded as his eyes glowed once more as he shot out and backhanded the pathetic mortal not caring how far the priest reeled away. "Murder!" he spat. "Vampire Slayers!"

"We Do Not Hunt Humans!"

"Me thinks...thou dost protest...too much," Andrew quoted Shakespeare, voice stalling horrible as the grip tightened. He did not believe this creature for a second.

"Selene is dead."

The vampire released him and stepped away. Andrew rubbed his throat and stared warily at the dazed man. What was this all about? Had he and Selene been friends? Perhaps the vampire was one of the fabled death dealers. He certainly seemed strong enough.

The good father barely got a chance to think anymore on the situation before the man backhanded him, the force of the blow sending Andrew's head ricocheting against the wall. Hard. "Murder! Vampire Slayers!"

The accusation cut him to the quick; the vampire had hit a never. "I did not kill Selene! I'd never kill anyone! I've never even held a gun!" Andrew's words slurred a little, and black and red spots were dancing around the edges of his vision. Goddammit, another hit like that and he'd wind up with a concussion...if he didn't already have one. "I never wanted her to die! She'd suffered enough! She didn't deserve to die!"

After everything Selene had been put through, Andrew had felt it an ultimate unfairness for her to die like that.

"I did not kill Selene! I'd never kill anyone! I've never even held a gun!"

Kraven didn't want to soil himself by touching the wretched human any more. He stood tall, glaring the mortal. "No, you don't use guns, you attack with explosives. It's more effective isn't it Priest. To kill more in just few seconds. Pah!" He sneered, "No you wouldn't want to get those priestly hands of your dirtied would you."

Kraven really wanted to tear this man's throat out as he snarled then reached for the man's collar, his nails digging into soft pliant flesh. "Come with me priest! Let me show you the results of your work."

That said, Kraven hauled the older human out the door, down the grand stair case then all but drug him to the dojos where most of the destructin had taken place.

The vampire tossed the human down. "LOOK at what you done Priest!" Kraven's voice was heavy as he gazed upon the buried and mangled bodies of the vampires who'd been caught in the downfall.

"LOOK at what you done Priest!"

Andrew did not want to see, had hoped he never have to. Clearly such hope was all in vain. The figure of a young woman caught his attention first. Bruised, battered, and beautiful, she lay still as death amid the rubble.

Stricken, Andrew knelt down beside her corpse. She wore leather clothing in the same style as Selene. Gently he smoothed her ruffled hair. Two kinds of guilt swayed his heart: sorrow for all lives lost and shame that he could be moved and feel sorrow for these demons in the first place.

How could he pity creatures that looked with such carelessness at human life? Sure there were laws, but that didn't mean they couldn't be discreetly flouted. How much covert killing had gone on among these undead beings? Not to mention toying with people out of some sadistic pleasure... Selene herself had mentioned repeatedly that there was plenty of flippant turning.

It wasn't until a teardrop fell on the dead woman's cheek that Andrew realized he was crying. Even if they were demons, even if they deserved this, even if he'd helped, so much death still broke the father's heart.

Furious and hurt, Andrew turned on his knees to face his unamed captor. Tears still trickled down his face, but there was a certain steadiness to his voice now. "Now you look at me, young man. You may hate me all you wish, but you cannot tell me your people--all or even most of them--are innocent creatures."

"Now you look at me, young man. You may hate me all you wish, but you cannot tell me your people--all or even most of them--are innocent creatures."

Kraven narrowed his eyes at the human, reaching down to hook an arm and pulled the priest to his feet, holding his forearm so he couldn't wiggle away, Kraven turned and started walking with him once more, he really should get him back to his room.

"What makes you think, priest, that you humans are any more sanctimonious than us." Kraven all but drugged the man back to the grand staircase.

He was just beginning the ascent when he was jostled then shoved aside by a hand full of irate death dealers. "Move Kraven!" They hissed at him, Kraven kept a hold of the priest, moving him back and away from the warriors as he glared yet moved aside for them nonetheless.

He didn't need to stir up new trouble, he gave the priest a patient look, ducking his head. This human didn't need to know about Kraven's true status of the house as he kept walking heading back to his room.

Once there, he keyed his code in and hauled the man back inside. Once inside, the vampire gave a sigh and resisted the urge to lean against the door. It was always a relief of late to get away from the all seeing eyes of the coven. He gave the priest another hard look.

"Break anything in here Priest and I will turn you loose upon the death dealers. He moved to the door that seperated his from Viktor's, he gave the human one last look.

"We all need to survive and do what we must to do so, but I don't see vampires dstroying the human's gathering places simply to reduce their numbers." He fixed the mortal with a cold glare as he opened the door. "There is no exscape mortal, unless you plan on jumping four stories down to the ground. The door is locked and the only other way out is this door." he tapped the door he held onto. "Give me a reason to call the death dealers." he grined before slipping inside Viktor's room.

Closing the door behind him, Kraven leaned his head against the door and closed his eyes, he would hear if the mortal tried to leave. He felt every one of his years very suddenly.

He was mad at the boy, really mad. And bitter. It was all Kraven’s fault after all. He was to blame for leaving this house vulnerable to external attacks. If mortals had managed to cause such destructions so effectively, then the elder should be grateful that Lucian didn’t decide to attack the mansion too. They would be doomed!

Yet it pleased to him to see the boy smile for a change. Kraven was beautiful, but when he smiled, Viktor was certain he could simply melt.

Viktor had to bring his hand to his mouth to avoid any expressions of his own from showing. He coughed softly and then returned to the conversation with Jared and co.
