He stood rooted to the spot. He wouldn’t smile, that would imply pride which was of course a sin. No, he would simply enjoy the sight before him ( Read more... )

Merlynn tried to stay hidden, unlike Ordoghaz, he wasn’t sure the lycans would run to hide deeper in their lair, instead of leaving their den and coming out. And if they did, he wasn’t sure he wanted to be in their way. He mentally cursed having taken on this mission. He was not the fighting type, definitely not the hero type ( ... )

There was no sign of Raze or Pierce or anyone with rank. Lucian directed the hysteric lycans as best he could, but dammit, they weren't really prepared for an attack of this scale.

Which was essentially his fault.

A lot of the pack would be okay though heading out the lair's myriad of exits. Whoever was attacking them would have a hard--if not impossible--time of catching every lycan.

Leading Michael throught the tunnels, Lucian had barely taken another step when his coat pocket began to ring. But his phone was on his desk... Wait a minute, this was Kraven's phone! He still had it; he'd left it in his coat.

"Hello? Who is this?!" Lucian demanded answering the device, his patience all but reaching its end.

“What the…” Merlynn begun, he was pretty sure he had dialed the right number, but that was definitely not Kraven’s voice.

“Lucian?” the priest queried. “I’m looking for Kraven! Damn it, where can I find him? I have to warn them, if it’s not too late…”

Who could possibly be calling on Kraven's cell? Despite the severity of the situation, Lucian had to answer. For all he knew, it might be urgent.

"I'll continue on up ahead, look for wounded. Look after yourself. I care alot about what happens to you - please be careful."

The lycan leader nodded. It would be wise for Michael to handle that. The phone conversation couldn't possibly be that long.

“I’m looking for Kraven! Damn it, where can I find him? I have to warn them, if it’s not too late…”

"Too late? Too late for what? Father Merlynn? It's you, isn't it? Merlynn, what the hell is going on?!" Then a new suspician surfaced in Lucian's mind. "It's not vampires attacking here, is it." Although phrased like a question, the sentence was a statement. Who exactly were the lycans up against?

“I had to be there!” Merlynn whined. “Damn, they left me out…” he kept grumbling. “But I don’t think they know, it’s not possible… I’ve kept the secret…”

Realizing that Lucian was more concerned over the current events and not the whole conspiracy he pulled himself together.

“Morgan decided to attack you both tonight, you and the vampires! He must be in Ordoghaz as we speak! God, I hope nobody got hurt… yet” he moaned. “I have to warn him, I have to find Kraven. How can I find him? Why do you have his phone? Damn, hurry!”

Merlynn was babbling nonsensically, the idiot. Lucian had to resist the urge of crunching the phone. This silly mortal was useless!

Then finally he began to make sense. “Morgan decided to attack you both tonight, you and the vampires! He must be in Ordoghaz as we speak!”

“Wait, you’re going too fast,” Lucian admonished. “Who’s Morgan? Why’s he attacking?”

“I have to warn him, I have to find Kraven. How can I find him? Why do you have his phone? Damn, hurry!”

Dammit, the lycan leader thought. If he wanted information, there was no way he could admit that he and had “parted ways”.

“Kraven gave me his phone,” Lucian lied smoothly, tone of voice never changing. “He’s run into trouble with the Elders. I’m afraid I don’t know all the details. Keeping this phone was too risky, but I’m unaware if he has a new one.”

Yes, Lucian thought, that should do it.

“Right now you must tell me exactly what’s happening. My people’s lives depend on it.”

Merlynn had started losing his patience. He should be in Ordoghaz, trying to warn or save them, him, and instead he had to explain the whole thing to Lucian. Apparently Kraven had spared the lycan leader the details…

“He’s in trouble?” he queried quite concerned. “What kind of trouble?” But he already suspected that he couldn’t discuss that with Lucian. This wasn’t the right place, the right timing.

“Lucian, everything’s over, for now.” He started talking as fast as he could. “No more attacks for this night, however you should get the hell out of this den. I wonder why you didn’t do that already since the vampires found its location. Weeks have passed! Anyway, it’s Kraven I’m interested in right now. How can I get in touch with him? Hurry, Lucian. The vampires may not be so lucky!”

“He’s in trouble? What kind of trouble?”

Well, Lucian supposed he could say that. "The conspiracy, our conspiracy, was discovered. Kraven's lucky he's not dead, but that's why you can't contact him! I can't even contact him!" the lycan leader added, keeping up the facade that he and Kraven were still partners. "Any wrong moves could sign his death warrant, but if you can get into Ordoghaz, then that's the only way I know that you can find him.

"I'm sorry, but I must go now, Merlynn. My people need me."

“Gah! All right!” he spat, hanging up. The phone call had been nothing but waste of time. Merlynn gathered all his remaining courage and decided to take a cab to Ordoghaz. Although he doubted he’d dare to enter it… Meeting with Kraven for sex was one thing and getting in the very core of the vampire community was another.

It would take guts and Merlynn didn’t have any.

“Oh, Morgan… why did you have to do this?” he whimpered to himself as the taxi was getting closer to the vampires’ mansion. He was hoping for a miracle but God had exceeded his generosity, concerning miracles, millenniums ago. And Merlynn didn’t even know what to hope for. Either way there would be losses for a man who had never chosen sides, namely Merlynn himself.

“Shit, shit, shit!” he muttered when he finally reached the area, not daring to go too close to the mansion. He couldn’t see clearly as it was still nigh time. Where was Morgan? “Now what?”

Michael frowned as Lucian suddenly stopped and retrieved a ringing cell phone from his pocket - they didn't have time for this right now.

He gave Lucian's hand a squeeze and then released himself from his lover's grasp.

"I'll continue on up ahead, look for wounded. Look after yourself. I care alot about what happens to you - please be careful."

Michael gave one last smile at the lycan and then scampered up the tunnels shouting for some lycans by name as he went. His eyes scanned the tunnels looking for wounded and finding mainly the dead.

He held on to Raze's arm like a leech, Katt felt a touch more secure so long as the bigger lycan was with him.

His senses where still buzzing and the blind lycan was still terribly disoriented as he did his best to keep up, stumbling over rubble and what felt like lycan bodies.

Perhas not being able to see was a blessing.

Katt cocked his head, he heard Raze's name being called. He gave the man a tug to his arm. "Raze, someone's calling you." Katt had never heard this voice before, but then again it had been some time since he'd been back to the den.

The younger lycan tried not to feel the stab of jealousy, he'd always held a secret crush on Lucian's second of command. "That way." He flicked his chin at the voice.

“Man, your hearing is remarkable!” Raze couldn’t help admiring. He had hardly managed to notice a voice calling his name while the den was filled with howls and shouts.

"That way." the smaller man nodded.

Raze moved to the direction the other lycan had pointed him to, but on second thought he turned the last moment to take the man with him. “I’m not gonna leave you here…” he murmured. Katt was too vulnerable now. And Raze couldn’t help feeling protective.

((OOC: watch me actually get involved. xD))

Pierce was just as confused as everyone else. What the hell was going on? Sounds like bombs were going off. And when things shook and crumbled, he knew he was in the wrong place.

He left the area he was in and went through the tunnels, trying to be careful. Briefly, he thought he head Michael's voice calling various names; probably checking for survivors. He turned a corner and stopped. He felt relief when he saw two familiar lycans.

"Raze! Katt!" He hissed, going over to them. "What's happened?"

He coudln't help but cough, dust was everywhere! But he wouldn't let go of Raze, he was just too damn scared to be left alone and was grateful that the other lycan hadn't left him.

"Raze! Katt! What's happened?"

Katt turned his head towards the sound a very familar and welcomed voice. "Pierce!" he gave a heavy sigh, "thank the moon you're alright!" The blind lycan smiled. What a way to return home! "I don't know what's going on!" he all but whined clutching Raze tighter gaining strength from having the other man so close.

Michael continued to shout frantically, rhyming off the names of the few lycans he knew as friends.

"Raze, Katt...Pierce! Someone answer me!"

Michael scrambled over bodies of fallen lycans, his blood running cold at the sight of so many fatalities.

"Someone answer!"

And just where had Lucian got to as well. He wanted the man close to him after such a disaster.

Michael groaned as he tripped over a corpse and fell to the ground hard, still shouting for survivors.

“Over here!” Raze shouted. It seemed that the hybrid was just as lost as they were… So much for Lucian’s high expectations…

And he had Katt’s hands all over him… Raze huffed, since that incident with Lucian he would see gay people everywhere. I’m just imagining this… he mused, rolling his eyes. Katt was almost blind after all and nobody would think of shagging when their whole den was falling apart.

“All right!” he spat as the lycans gathered around them. “Let’s stay here, it’s safe. We’ll wait for Lucian!” he ordered.
