I've had most of my love for sports drummed out of me, primarily by the antics and rantings of various sports fans, blood relatives and otherwise, over the years.
And I never liked football; I was always more of a baseball and basketball (leaning more towards basketball) kind of guy.
I'm particularly glad about that at this point: the Detroit Lions finally finished their record-setting season today against the Green Bay Packers.
The Lions are the first NFL team to go 0-16.
Yep, you got it: "WE'RE NUMBER NONE! WE'RE NUMBER NONE!"
Wonder how hard it would be to make a bunch of giant foam hands making a zero, instead of holding up an index finger? Gotta be some money to be made for an enterprising vendor.
There's an old gag about "watching the [INSERT NAME OF TEAM HERE] lose"; for the Detroit Lions, that gag should now read: "Watching the Lions lose...and lose...and lose...and lose...."
