today i somehow woke up at 10:30 when i had every intention of waking up at 1:30 to help get rid of my sleep debt. i got up and ate and finished off Port Royal in Kingdom Hearts Dos (first time i've touched the thing since the summer, wow). then i went back to my room to read and guess what i did? I FELL ASLEEP. agh.
so, concert thingy. not really a concert...it was an advent catholic service that glasscock volunteered us for. it wasn't COMPLETELY horrible, really. even sitting through all that bible bullshit didn't kill me and god didn't come out of the ceiling and strike me down for being an atheist sitting in his church. all the readings were really short and all the screw-ups we made were enough to keep me laughing (or going red in the face trying hard not to laugh) through most of it. at the beginning of the service, we all had to bow at the altar and stuff. i guess i didn't really mind since it was a carol thingy and i figured that following protocol here was my best option and it wouldn't kill me or offend me to bow in front of an altar, even if it was completely meaningless.
the worst part, though, besides the countless ways the choir fucked up (such as coming in in 93 different keys on Carol Noel or me choking during my trio because of the incense they were burning) was that i was somehow recruitted to sing xmas eve mass at mommie's church by her choir director who decided that he would come and hear us. apparently he's friends with glasscock. anywho. there was alotta confusion and congrats and weird stuff and i was eventually attacked by some godwad chick about my age who was like, "god bless your christmas!"
i'm proud of myself. i kept a straight face and said, "thank you."
anyway, i really am proud of myself because the Biebel Ave Maria was really amazing. it was a two-choir piece, and one of the "choirs" was only a trio consisting of hannah, kaymon or keymon (i can't get them straight) and me. and it sounded really really good except when we were choking. goddamn churches who burn incense. it smells good though, in small, non-headachy amounts.
the end.
