greets from Tokyo
Day 5 in Tokyo now, if you count the day we got here and did pretty much nothing.
Tokyo is freaking rad. So far, we've gone to some parks & museums; we went to Design Festa, a big art & music event; we pretty much randomly stumbled upon Sanja Matsuri in the Asakusa district, which is Tokyo's largest festival and involves lots of people in traditional outfits, carrying portable shrines and playing taiko drums (a lot of times they have little tiny kids playing the drums, which is pretty cute); we met up with a friend of a friend of Aaron, Makoto, who took us out to dinner and Karaoke, which was a blast; and of course lots of wandering around looking at stuff. The food is delicious, and you can buy beer from vending machines on the street. The TV is interesting, I think the commercials are my favorite part.
