"there's five good ones for ya."

Saturday a fellow warehouse worker and I were making deliveries on grounds in the golf cart. It was late morning so there were patrons wandering about including one little boy who was standing, sort of stupified, in our way. He slowly walked over to one side and Adam, who was driving, inched us past. While we were passing I stuck out my hand for the kid to slap my five. He reached out to deliver but before we could connect, Adam, whom I believe was unaware of our attempt at a five, took off so we never slapped.
Now my day was not particularly unlucky from that moment forward, in fact I'd say it was fairly par the course in terms of good luck/bad luck ratio. Still it makes sense in my head to think that when a slap five fails that the parties then suffer a jinx. I'd say maybe a day-long jinx, maybe less. Note that this is not the same as someone not accepting a five. If someone rejects another's offer of a five then that is simply a social slight, not a jinx. Again my own experience has given me no real evidence to support this but I think it should be the lore anyway. If somebody out there wants to copy and paste then we can make this thing official.
