I've had a fairly action packed week this week.

Last Friday night I made supper for James and then we watched some family guy with his brother.  On Saturday Andrew came over from Baisingstoke and we went for a walk in Cliveden.  In the evening we went to see the Sound of Music in the West End, which I thouroughly enjoyed (I don't care how sad that may seem!).  It was well acted and well sung all the way through, though I'm not sure about some of the scenery, namely the giant tilting mound/hill.  On Sunday I had a 3 hour trampolining squad training session and then ended up in my garden doing cartwheels; I need to remind myself that I am no longer 7, as by Monday morning by back was killing me!  Sunday evening saw pandemonium singing in a concert at St Johns Smith Square and boy do we live up to our name!  There were only 8 of us singing (9 if you include Viv), so every voice counted and we were still rehearsing outside on the steps outside the concert hall half-way through the performance!  Overall it went ok apparently (according to the parents, Natalie, Simon and James).  It was lovely to see Simon A and Natalie again; we always seem to meet up at these kinds of events.

Work was good for me this week, as I got to take some kids to see Wicked in the West End and did a lot of cover for people, so got a bit of a change.  The students really seemed enthralled by Wicked; it was especially funny when one girl paid for binoculars and didn't realise she was meant to give them back (we did, sheepishly have to go and return them for her).  Having the opportunity to work in the autistic unit this week was also great fun; it didn't matter that I didn't know their routines, as the kids would tell me and lead them!  The evenings consisted of a music lesson, a scenario training session, a trampolining session, a SWON rehearsal and meeting up with James.

This weekend I was on duty on the morning and then went to play on a bandstand at Embankment in the afternoon with SWON.  We didn't play brilliantly, but it wasn't awful either.  The Vaughn Williams and Tchaikovsky were especially good fun.  We had a surprisingly good turn-out  in the audience despite the dull weather, including much appreciated support from Peter and Gil.  Peter, Gil and I met up with James in Regents Park and then later on made our way to The Flask in Highgate to meet up with Laurent, Gemma, Josh and Matt.  It was fab to see Peter, but the conversation in the pub was decidedly dull.  Today I got up at 7:30 (unheard of on a Sunday) for a trampolining competition.  Considering it was my 1st competition and others in my group had been doing elementry for years and (with the tariff of their vols being so high) probably should have been moved up into grade 4, I didn't do all that badly!  There were 10 of us and I came 4th in the set routines, but in the Vols I didn't do barani ball outs like some people and I fell over after my somersault, so I went down to 6th place. The final routines went ok though.  Next time for my Vol I'll increase my tariff; perhaps I'll do: full twist, straddle, seat drop, half twist to seat drop, half twist to feet, tuck, tucked front somersault, half twist, tuck, piked front somersault.  James has just arrived now, so I'm off to watch some Futurama with him.
