I lost my front door key on Friday; I don't know where or when or how. I ended up staying at (
cartographer and
mr_wombat)'s place for the weekend.
Naturally, the only thing to do in that situation is buy a
Nintendo DS. They're going secondhand in Gamestop for €99. I picked up a copy of
Another Code, also second hand. It's a point and click adventure game, which works really well with the DS touch screen. The review is accurate; I won't repeat except to confirm that it's very short. I hear that you can get
ScummVM for the DS, which would be very, very nice indeed. It requires extra hardware and probably a few voided warranties, but so does everything fun.
I also gave Farenheit a try on
mr_wombat's Xbox (also my first time using an xbox). It seems good; good enough to have me wondering how much a second hand xbox will cost when the 360 is released. (This indicates my canny consumerism.) I'd get it for PC, but I get so lonely playing games in my room. So very lonely. Playing a computer game is often a fairly social activity for me; I need somebody to yell at or with. It doesn't work for every game.
I figure that having three and four day weekends will let me catch up on my games; there's quite a few piled up. There's that Lucas Art adventure games collection, the Dreamcast NES emulator with Chrono Trigger, both Simon the Sorcerer games... and a few I can't justify buying until I know I have free time.
