Why I think this is too little, too late.

Then
Bal Gangadhar Tilak - born in a middle class Maharashtrian Chitpavan Bramhin family. He graduated from Deccan College in Pune.

Vinayak Damodar Savarkar - born in a well respected Chitpavan Bramhin family and studied in Fergusson College, Pune. He then enrolled in Gray's Inn, a law college in London and contributed to the activities of India House.

Lala Lajpat Rai - born into a trader's family in Punjab and joined Government College in Lahore to study law.

Bhagat Singh - came from a patriotic Sikh family and joined National College, Lahore only to run away later.

Middle class.
Educated.
Disenfranchised.

Now
13 March 2003 - bomb goes off in a train in Mulund killing 10.

28 July 2003 - bomb goes off in a bus in Ghatkopar killing 4.

25 August 2003 - Two bombs go off in cars near the Gateway of India and Zavery Bazaar killing 50.

11 July 2006 - series of seven bombs go off in trains across Mumbai killing 209

26 - 29 November 2008 - coordinated attacks on the elite symbols of Mumbai, killing more than 170.

Why does it still take a disenfranchised educated middle class to force change?

Is it disturbing that we rise in protest only when the men and women in expensive shirts and high heels are knocked off the horse?
