Yay, seems this week might not be as bad as I thought it would be.
Anne has gone to London for her once a year 'escape from the children and vincent' (though considering she doesn't work during the day I don't see why she needs to escape for the first four days of their holidays) so Hortense is with her cousins and Henri is with me for the week. So I'm technically on full time, have to get up at a normal hour to have breakfast with him, that sort of thing.
But his Granny's staying with us in case we need help with anything and she seems to be quite happy with the boy. He's watching Robinson Crusoe with her now, and while it's not alright for me to sit him in front of too much tv if she does it Anne can't complain, so I seem to have been given time to myself till lunch (yay!). And after lunch he's going to a friend's house *skips around*
The only problem with all this is that Granny's a big fan of meat (and as many of you know, big hunks of meat are so not my thing) so it's roast lamb for dinner despite the fact the weather's in the high twenties. It's just not summer food I tell you! Shouldn't complain, she'll help with it I assume, as I have no idea how to cook, well, anything other than pasta with random made up sauces.
Tommorrow it's off to France Miniature for a bit of the day, then a trip to Marie Antoinette's little farm on friday. Henri and I were going to go into Paris, to a film or the louvre, but she wants to go to the farm......ah well. All in all she's making this week easier than it could have been (I think) so yes.....
Fantastic storm last night! or "rage" (raj) in french. Thunder, lightning, driving rain....bloody brilliant :D
