Well weekends are my days of choice for visiting Paris, firstly because I can get up at whatever time I please and then go in as opposed to having to be back here at five, which means being able to rp till three with
sethoz the night before, and secondly because if it's a Sunday I can't be tempted to buy anything (Paris being still in the dark ages when it comes to retail hours) because nothing is open. Considering last time I went into paris I spent over $100 on books it's probably just as well.
So considering I'm going to the sales on Wednesday (yay! The Sales!) I figured that Sunday would be the best option and of course it's raining so much that not only can I not go into Paris unless I feel like turning into a drowned rat but I can't really go do anything else either. Can't walk in the forest, can't go to St Germain-en-Laye and read in the castle gardens. Anne suggested a movie but considering I have many many hours worth of dvds to watch I feel bad spending money on the train to Marly le Roi and then on a movie. Plus yes, the walk to the station, no fun in this weather.
And of course, tis also one of the few days my current fellow obsessee the aforementioned
sethoz is held captive by her visiting evil religious grandparents until 8 pm. Woe is me ;)
But hey, I visited the Chateau de Monte Cristo yesterday so that was cool. Imitation castle amongst english gardens built by request for Alexandre Dumas with a tiny castle (Chateau D'If) for him to write in. He held it only a year before he had to sell it because it had cost so much to build/maintain that the debts were crippling him. Very cool regardless, Chateau D'If has all the names of his published works etched into the stones. Not a small ego that one.
Well I'm only 1/4 of the way through Farscape (unless you count The Peacekeeper Wars in which case I'm only 1/5) so I think I'll start on the second season of that. I really want to read more of the oscar wilde books I bought (he's my current favourite, but we all know it'll be someone else in a few weeks) but considering I have a month and a half stuck in a chalet in my future it makes sense to save the books for then, I know I'll be desperate for them by that point.
