some people may say people who have aids brought it on themselves, but what about the kids that are born into the world with aids and had no choice and no way to prevent it? it's pretty heartbreaking. i just saw a sign on an aids thing on tv that said "aids cures homosexuals" wtf? it's also sad that our family we "adopted" for band always asks for ( Read more... )

i agree about the band thing.

well with everything but more on the band thing...

i had no money today except some change and i emptied it in the hat. a few quarters, or dollars to those who have it, isnt a big deal. but i'm sure it'll be a big deal to the family we give it to.

plus... i want cookies :)

It's understandable if people don't have money on them, but some people are just shallow and don't care about others. Shame on them!

I would say it is even worse for the people that used to get it from transfusions and then couldn't really love someone without fearing that they could pass it. I think it is funny how uninformed people are because it isn't just people who are gay that have a high risk, it is anyone who sleeps with men (A.K.A... STRAIGHT WOMEN!) because it is extremely likey to be passed by men and a just a very little bit less likely to be spread by women.

i don't necessarily think that you can judge who has it worse by how someone got a disease. a lot of cancers (not just lung) are brought on by lifestyle factors, whether it be diet or otherwise. same with diabetes, anemia, etc. it goes on and on.

i don't know. i just think saying "AIDS is a legitimate threat, NORMAL people can get it" is pretty counterproductive and irrelevant, and is essentially just sidestepping the problem. AIDS is a legitimate threat because people get it, regardless of how it got passed to them, end of story.

but what do i know?

umm you definitely know a lot. you're right, i don't think there are different degrees to how terrible a disease is for people. i guess i just felt bad seeing pictures of little kids with aids and no parents. i didn't get this comment until now cause gmail overlaps comments a lot and i was like umm wtfz!

ps sometimes i feel dumb replying to things you say because you are a very deep, intellectual person.(half-kidding, but half-serious)

yeah, i understand why viewing something like that would be upsetting. i sort of felt like an ass for leaving that comment, like i was calling you out or something. i'm glad you didn't interpret it that way!

and i am not even close to deep or intellectual but thanks!
