Description: Izumo's most notable physical characteristic is his dark brown hair, which is just above shoulder length and covers the right side of his face. His eyes match his hair nearly perfectly, their dark chocolate irises flecked with lighter brown to give them depth. His body is rather short and very slight, weighing in at 58 kilograms (128 pounds) with a height of 169 cm (5 feet, 6 inches). However, most of his weight is toned muscle, giving him a healthy appearance despite his low weight. He tends to wear long clothing that covers his body, because his pale skin is sensitive to burning.
Personality: Izumo seems shy and quiet at first glance, but pair him with Kotetsu and he opens up. He's very kind, but he can have a biting wit and can be downright snarky. He also has a hidden adventurous side that only those closest to him get to see. He actually has a rather submissive personality, however. He is practically joined to Kotetsu at the hip, due to their history together and their telepathic abilities, and he wouldn't have it any other way. He is a fan of good food, and is always happy to try something new. He is a better cook than Kotetsu, and likes to experiment with food even if it isn't always successful; in cases like that, he goes with the old standby of ramen or stir-fry with rice. He is mostly a pacifist, and doesn't like to raise his hand against people, but he has been known to smack Kotetsu around when the man gets out of control.

When Kotetsu and Izumo hit puberty, though, they noticed something curious about themselves and each other. When they were together, they didn't need to speak to communicate with each other; and when they were apart, it was as if they knew what the other was thinking. When Izumo tried to explain this to his parents, they dismissed his concerns as fantasy, and he never spoke of it again. Their abilities grew stronger as they got older, as did their friendship... until one day, while swimming in the river near their village together, they kissed for the first time. After that kiss, their relationship progressed in a new direction, the boys discovering their attraction to each other as they matured. They were practically married, and their lives were happy, even if they did have to hide the physical part of their relationship.
But, sadly, that happiness didn't last long. Just weeks after Kotetsu's 25th birthday, they were away from the village when Izumo noticed smoke rising from that direction. Running back, they found that their small, peaceful village had been raided by mountain bandits, and was being burned to the ground. Izumo blacked out at that point, remembering nothing until he awakened several hours later, soaking wet and alone. He and Kotetsu were the only villagers to survive the incident. In their grief, they traveled far from their home, not wanting to hold on to the memories, and settled in a large city called Konoha. There, they lived quietly, never knowing of the true power that had been unleashed that day: Izumo's mighty power over water, which he'd used to not only attack and drown the bandits, but also to put out the huts that were on fire.
However, one of the bandits had survived as well, and he told the tale of the awesome might of the two young men to anyone who would listen. The story spread, though most didn't believe it; unfortunately, those who did believe it weren't exactly the friendliest people. One night, several weeks after their arrival, they were snatched from their beds and never seen in Konoha again.

This is... intense. The island itself is beautiful, but the way we were suddenly brought here, as if we were--diseased? Detested? I can't think of the right word. It was like we were no longer considered part of society, and we needed to be disposed of as soon as possible. There we go, that's the word. Disposable. I'm just glad I didn't lose Kotetsu in the process.
At least we'll be helping here. Making a difference. Even if we aren't marked by name, someday this hospital will be famous for curing the diseases that, up until a few years ago, we were treating with conventional antibiotics. But since those don't work any longer, and people are starting to die from those diseases, then I guess it's all right to be on this island. As long as we're helping people, I'll be okay.
RP Sample:
Sitting in the library in the main hospital building, Izumo flipped through a book, though he wasn't really reading the words. So far there wasn't much to do on the island; there were rumors that some patients would be allowed to work in the town, but no word yet on specifics. The idea of having a real job made Izumo's fingers itch to do something with his time. Vaguely, he wondered if there was a way that he could start a window garden in his and Kotetsu's apartment. He decided he would ask Kotetsu later, and only then would he approach someone to ask permission.
