Saga #3 - Alana tries to avoid it, but eventually makes a deal with the ghost to bind the ghost to Hazel, letting the ghost leave the planet. In exchange, the ghost is helping Alana find snow so Marko can make a spell to heal himself. Before he can, though, he feverishly calls out another woman's name and says he loves her (who is this?!). We get a bit of world building with The Will (and Lying Cat) and Prince Robot IV. Lots of nice character moments with world building being done around the edges.

Batwoman #9 - This story continues with the confusing time jumps. Her cousin may be dying. She's having problems with her GF. She's doing covert spy stuff that isn't helping the GF situation. And she's fighting the bad guys to, seemingly, the end point. I just wish it was told more linearly.

Betsy - Betsy is an short indie comic about a day in the life of a woman who is grooming mutated human babies to explore space. It's kind of weird as it's short and we don't get much in the way of world building, but we get a decent sense of the woman's feelings given the short length.

Cartoon Crier #1 - This is a newspaper from an arts college full of student (and a few professional) comic strips featuring characters crying. It seems gimmicky, but most of the short strips as strangely affecting and you get a bittersweet feeling after reading so many.

Mother Ship Blues - From the same person who wrote Betsy, Mother Ship Blues follows the life of a couple of maintenance people on a space ship, one of which becomes friendly with some space mold that he is supposed to be cleaning up. They eventually take over the ship and everyone escapes except for the main character, who ends up drifting off into space alone. Again, it's a short story, but much more fleshed out than Betsy. There's quite a bit going on with the story, with three or four characters that are surprisingly fleshed out.

Mystery In Space #1 - An anthology of stories based around space. Mostly good, with only one being sub par, but not a lot of originality. The one story about taking free will back from the computers was pretty good. So was Mike Allred's story about reincarnation. One kind of unique thing is that there's a lesbian love story and a gay three way kinda love (well, lust) story. You don't see a lot of this in mainstream comics.

Wonder Woman #9 - WW's sidekicks are working their way to hell to attend Hades' wedding to WW. Seemingly a lot of set up getting the characters together, but there are some nice, funny, pun filled moments that I enjoyed. Not sure what the ending with WW facing a noose, means, though.

The Coffin HC - The Coffin is a suit made out of an impenetrable material that nothing can pass through, including souls. It is used to encase dead people and let them interact with the world. An uncaring scientist is trapped in such a suit. He met the devil when dying and knows he has to make amends for being a jerk in real life. There's also an unethical old man who wishes to live forever and will use Coffin technology to do so, letting nothing get in his way. Interesting premise with some cool visuals (especially the hell scenes), but the writing isn't as polished as it could be.

X-O Manowar 1 - Yet another 90's reboot. Unlike the Image ones, this one seems to be starting the story over from the beginning, telling of a group fighting the Romans, but eventually being picked up as slaves by aliens. It is part one of the origin story, which is weird as we don't actually see X-O by the end. Seems like a lot of setup for what (I don't think) isn't the final setting of the story.

Fantastic Four 605.1 - This 0.1 issue tells the story of the beginning of the Council, which is Nazi Reed Richards. He's a ruthless character who's hubris results in the destruction of the universe. There's some interesting moments and details, but Nazi Reed Richards is kinda stupid.

Amazing Spider-Man: Ends of the Earth 1 - This is the story that was alluded to in the last ASM issue, telling the tale of the heroes Spidey recruited to fight Doc Oct's goons. the first half is pretty "meh", jumping around a lot and resulting the off page deaths of a few characters we have zero emotional attachment to. The second half was written by the guy who writes Atomic Robo and features a Japanese team. Again, it's a group we have little connection to, but the focus on a single group and the writer's sense of humor makes the story gel together much better than the first half.

Avenging Spider-Man 7 - This was kind of a stupid story where Spider-Man (kind of creepily) follows She Hulk to a museum where she his taking part in an ancient Egypt exhibit. She ends up waking an ancient god and growing a tale, much to Spidey's amusement. Spidey eventually takes his Egyptian knowledge to impersonate a different god and diffuse the situation. Like I said, kind of stupid, but there's some good Spidey quips that keep it entertaining.

Punisher 11 - A weird story where Castle fights a bunch of zombies and takes care of the super villain responsible in his normal, efficient way: a bullet to the forehead. I really enjoyed the capable Punisher taking care of business, but the story doesn't have much to do with anything.

Wolverine & The X-Men 10 - Scott and Logan talk while the rest of the X-Men take sides for AvX. I dug the interplay between the two, but the entire issue is about AvX, which I don't care about at all.

Wolverine 306 - Wolverine hunts down Dr. Rot while the rest of his X-Men wonder where it is. I don't remember much other than his fun fight with some of Dr. Rot's old patients.
