Greengold Rd

I finally got a chance to "tackle" Greengold Rd. I've mentioned it before and said I wanted to go back and explore some more.

I took that first hill without a problem. The recent rains washed away all the built up sand, so I just had to deal with some rough gravel.

I got a better shot of how steep this road was:

And the rickety bridge at the bottom:

Well, this time I decided to continue on to the next cross street. How difficult could that be? Turns out the next hill wasn't quite as steep, but it was made of very deep ruts, big rocks, and mud. There was one spot I was scared I was going to bust my oil pan on. I literally walked the bike down this hill. I have no idea what I would have done if I had to go up this hill instead. Cry, most likely. I made it through, but I'm not going to go back any time soon. It was the opposite of fun.

Some of the smaller ruts where I could catch my breath:

What I had already passed:

This road was made for dirt bikes, not cruisers with street tires. Maybe if I ever get that Versys I'll go back...

I celebrated getting through this by eating BarBQ at Big O's. Mmmm.

motorcycle, trip
