the next contestant on the price is right...
alright, sorry I didn't get to this sooner but I had a test and two homework assignments to do for today and good old procrastinating me waited until last night to do them.
Ok, so my weekend...
Friday afternoon I was sitting in my room wondering what to do that night (Dan had a date or somesuch nonsense and Ben was gone to OSU) when I get a message from Katie about Big Blue Madness. We'd talked about it at lunch and Thomas had an extra ticket left after Katie and her friend Mitchell (a girl named Mitchell? wtf mate?) took his other two extras. I had nothing else to do so I said "sure, I'll come."
So I headed up to north campus around 7 cause I was hungry and I was gonna stop by K-Lair on the way but they were closed like the bitches they are so I had to go to McDonald's. A lot of people don't like McDonald's cause it's all greasy and stuff but I think that's actually what appeals to me..I dunno, but I got a crispy club sandwich thingo that was good and the fries were great as always so I was happy. Anyway, back to my story - so we went to Big Blue Madness and watched Bobby Perry try to be Eddie Murphy singing "my girl wants to party all the time" which was probably my favorite part of the entire event...or maybe when Tubby started dancing...or when Shagari dunked it and then stood flat footed while still holding the rim...good times
Ok after that we headed for the hockey game which was awesome as always but especially so with Mitchell but we lost so I was kind of pissed cause we played really badly. Steak and Shake afterward and then speed bump ramping on the way back make for good times too.
Alright Saturday we went to Keeneland but not before picking up Badass Pat who was visiting from wherever the hell he goes to school at and Katie and Mitchell. I lost money but looked good doing it, while Dan and Pat won like 54 dollars on the last race so came out way ahead..but I won in other ways.. After Keeneland we went to the Ho for Katie and Mitchell to meet up with their friend Rob and then we split up so Katie and Mitchell could go see the "glass menagerie" at the guignol while Dan and I came back to the room and smashed it up with mevans. Katie and Mitchell showed up after their play and we watched Harold and Kumar, always a good time, and John (our suitemate) and his girlfriend showed up about halfway through and watched it with us.
To cap off the awesome weekend, Sunday we got up and went to Nashville for the Green Day concert with Laura and Becca. I have to admit, going in I didn't think it was going to be all that great but I was really pleasantly surprised. When we were standing in line waiting to go in we were surrounded by 13-14 year old emo kids and Dan and I were like "man this is gonna suck if we're like the only people over 15 here" and it did suck until we got inside where there were actually people our age. It does suck though that the audience Green Day's hitting right now is the emo kids but I guess it can't be helped. They're gonna take over anyway. But I digress, the concert rocked and the weekend was insanely awesome all around. Not only because of the stuff we did but hanging out with Mitchell was a lot of fun.
