The day I became officially blind.

Today was spent with a pair of HUGE goggley goggle glass like things over my eyes.

In other words, an eye test. My mother has been going to the same person for 29 or so years, so she decided it would all be great fun to introduce me to the guy who fitted her glasses when she was my age. So, sure, I went. He lifted these goggle like things onto me, and fitted them - I felt like a terrorist strapping a stick of dynamite to my ribcage. Here's a picture of me:

It went like that, except I'm not from Pakistan, and I assume the situation may have been slightly more... hygenic? It was more like this:

No wait, I don't look like that.

Yeah, that's me getting my eyes tested. HOLY FUCK! I found a photo of what the goggle things looked like:

They were large, but somehow NOT pink.

My mother and I were waiting for the appointment, and I somehow got into a conversation with the man there about the school his daughter was going to. I then found out that it was the same school I was once at! You should have heard me gushing about how GREAT it was! For those who are unaware, my years at that school were the most awful of my life. So, of course, I have to instill the same horrors upon everyone else that I had to suffer. The woman said to my mother "Are they her... first?" She whispered it in a way, as if asking about me buying my first bra, or some sort of ... sanitary pad. My mother replied with a meek "Yes." and that was luckily the end of the conversation. I don't know how awkward it could have gotten, and I'm glad I walked away and feigned interest in some hideous glasses.

Look how happy they both are! Well, the glasses should be arriving Friday. My blindness rating? I only have to wear them when I'm reading, or watching a movie, or crappy things like that.
