Well, never done any of this online blog/journal/whatever stuff before but hey, whatever. I've got work that needs to be done so what better way to waste time than to start up something like this? I was introduced to the idea of LiveJournal by some friends I met this year through my anime club and I thought it was an interesting concept.
Normally I'm pretty introverted and don't like to share my thoughts but for some reason, starting this year, I've started to open up a bit more. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a serious or quiet person. I'm actually quite goofy around my friends (if only I could describe all the crazy things I've done...maybe in another entry) but even most of my closest friends don't know the "real" or "inner" me. All they see is the guy who's perpetually happy and smiling, which I don't mind. I mean why bother people with your own problems when they've got their own to worry about? That's sort of been my motto for most of my life.
Of course, that doesn't always work out the way you want it to and you really need a friend to talk to. It's times like these that I'm glad that I can talk to one of my friends that I've known for more than 10 years of my life (ever since grade 5). She's helped me through some of the biggest problems I've had to face throughout high school and university, even though she ended up going to Queen's. Even recently, I had a really big problem she helped me work out and I'm really thankful that she did.
But enough about that, I guess I should talk a little bit about myself since this should really be my introduction to anybody who manages to stumble upon my account (probably not many =P). Basically I'm a typical Chinese Canadian University of Toronto student that was born right here in Toronto. As such, I'm not very in touch with the whole Chinese culture thing, although it'd be a mistake to call me white-washed, since I also don't find a lot of aspects of North American culture that appealing. I rarely listen to english music and don't really watch much television, although I really liked Frasier and still watch the Discovery Channel whenever I find time. I'm actually a really big fan of Japanese things, especially in the typical anime/manga/videogames department. I'm just guessing, but I have a feeling that the majority of my future posts (if I get around to posting regularily) will somehow have something to do with something of Japanese origin. I don't really want to babble on and on since it'll get boring but I'll try and post here fairly often since it seems like a really good way of relaxing.
