Summary: A girl muses about a color.
She'd always found it to be a nice color.
Loud, noticeable, and almost obnoxious, it was something that stood out always, even when surrounded by thousands of other shades and hues. In any situation, it was one color that would always make itself known---and people couldn't ignore, even if they wanted to. Their eyes would be automatically drawn to it, and they couldn't help but notice its existence.
It was an imposing color too; one that normally went along with a warning or caution; so when you saw it, you'd know to stay on your guard, or get out of the way. It was also the color of flames, burning away whatever it touched--brightening them with its hue for just a moment before whatever was in question fell away to ash, gone forever. Or, just as quickly, it could give whatever looked upon it warmth, and comfort--a safe place where one could rest; the light from the fire driving away the frigid darkness in all directions.
It was also the color of the fall--the leaves bathed within it; bright and glorious--as if they knew their fate, but they wanted to make one last stand. They would paint themselves to an almost point of garishness, as if the strong hue would fight off the winter, and their eventual death, at least for some time. And if it didn't, then they'd never be forgotten. The latter was certainly true, as people would come from all points of life to watch the dance of autumn--the last fire of the world before the winter coated it all with frozen, colorless silence.
Orange was a color of obstinance, of pride, and fire--of something that would not back down, would burn with passion...and would never fade from memory, no matter how many years passed.
She felt it suited him.
