What is it about going home that rejuvenates and recharges? I had an incredible time back home and feel better than I have in a long time about everything. Somehow, at least in my own experience, my family always lifts my spirits; reminds me of who I am and where I came from. Reminders are always good. It helped me to remember how much the love of my life means to me and how blessed we are to have each other. She is an amazing woman with so much to give and I feel like the luckiest man on earth waking up to her everyday.
I finally got to go fly-fishing again. It was awesome to be able to fish with my best friend Cody and Dad Jeff. It was even sweeter that I was the only one who caught, even though it was a lowly whitefish. haha. It was an awesome day regardless. I would have been happy catching sticks.
Cody and Melissa had a beautiful baby boy last spring and I finally had the honor of meeting him. He was completely adorable and seemed to like the wife and I quite a bit. My grandpa recited his old anecdote, "It takes a good mare to spawn a good colt." True indeed gramps.
Another great victory for me and my people was the Utes beating BYU in overtime. Even better was that I got to be there to see all the disappointed Cougar fans. That's four years in a row jerks. Get used to it.
All in all, it was one of the best trips home I have ever had. Thank you Utah for everything.
