Apartment life slowly improves. Lots on the horizon this summer, most important of which is school summer session starting June 15th. However, before that is an even more momentous event- the 48 Hour Film Festival, of which I have an active role.
Essentially it breaks down like this:
Many film crews all show up to a meeting where the genre, setting, theme, and one line of dialogue are presented. From there, each film crew has 48 hours to write, shoot, edit and present the film they have made, sticking as close to the genre, setting, and theme as possible and also including the line of dialogue provided. It is an intense, grueling, challenging and overall rewarding experience I should think, and I have decided that it is an experience I simply can't miss out on.
There is an entire crew of young and old, of different backgrounds and levels of experience for each film crew. The one I am involved in, not counting actors, exceeds fourty people, all of whom will be working with the director (my room mate Joe Mesiano), and each has a specific role, or multiple roles. These roles include editing, cinematography, grips, booms, cablers, lighters, script writers, casting directors, etc. My designated jobs for this project include three different but important tasks, the most important of which is assistant directing. I'll be controlling the chaos on-set.
I'll also be working closely with the screenwriters and adding my expertise where appropriate, as well as scoring the film.
Also, I have created a new piece of artwork:
And lastly, a new mix, a chill-out dubby mix that is geared towards people on psychedelics or just completely stoned.
