I meant to show you
the sparkle in your eyes
the effect you have on me daily
and to light up the world with your smile.

I meant to play you
a melody to melt your heart
a blueprint of your laugh
and the movies of years to come
I've already plotted out in my mind.

I meant to say

"Oh sweetheart.."
"Remember me"
above these and all the rest,
I meant to say
