Gaku Washio woke blearily to find his face attached to his pillow. This was distinctly odd because he didn’t remember making his way back to his quarters last night, especially as he’d been going over the flight specs of the Noble Eagle and trying to figure out just what had gone wrong in the calculations to almost cause his pride and joy to blow up. He’d been working on the problem for days and was still no nearer an answer now than he had been when he started.
On the other hand… small details about the previous night were beginning to permeate the fog of his brain and now he remembered, with a narrow-eyed glare of suspicion at his inoffensive pillow, that the last person he’d seen before waking up with a mouthful of synthetic fabric was…
Samezu Kai. With a mug of Ushigome’s coffee to keep him going, or that’s what he’d said, but Gaku was beginning to have very dark suspicions about what exactly had been in that mug. Ushigome probably wasn’t in on it, it wasn’t his style, so that meant that the annoying kid who was way too smart for his own good had come up with it all on his own. Well fine, he could suffer the consequences on his own, no hiding behind Ushigome for him this time.
Gaku refused to admit that he did feel a bit better for his forced trip to dreamland.
