More "Spiritual Fitness" Nonsense

Mar 17, 2011 14:32

I posted this a while back asking about the Spiritual Fitness initiative in the Army. I brought it up in response to a few soldiers being "strongly encouraged" to attend an Evangelical Christian event which took place on Fort Bragg.

Fort Bragg's commander said after speaking with the no religious preference crowd, these folks, he'd allow them to have a similar event. Well, technically, he is... if you ignore it taking place in a much smaller venue and the estimated cost from the base being several thousand dollars more than what the Christian event cost based on some FOIA metrics.

I'm not surprised, but I am appalled. I've "heard" of non-religious folks in the Army and Air Force being somewhat discriminated against. This certainly isn't helping the case of the folks on the apologists side....
