I bought the Paul McKenna "I Can Make You Thin" book and it comes with a 20 minute relaxation mind programming cd to help you have better self esteem, more motivation and to help you eat correctly to lose weight (notice, no diet).
He has 4 rules to lose weight
1 - eat when you're hungry (but always have a glass of water first)
2 - Eat what you want, not what you think you should
3 - Eat consciously and enjoy every mouthful (chew lots, put your knife and fork down after each mouthful)
4 - Stop when you think you're full. (but if you get hungry 20 mins later, have a glass of water, but then if you're still hungry, eat a little more of something else.)
There's all sorts of mind tricks, which are on the CD.
I've converted it using Itunes, but can also do it with Windowsmedia if you want it as mp3.
Anyone want it? (it's about 24MB)
I've just listened to it and didn't even realise 20 minutes had gone by, at the end he goes wake up 1 2 3 and I literally JUMPED up feeling really energised and wanting to hang the laundry out on the line just to move my body around!!
Heck, it can't hurt to try and at £10 for the book and CD, it's a hell of a lot cheaper than weight watchers.
(1 point from the book really struck me, he said in WWII they did starvation exercises in the concentration camps. They gave people starvation rations and watched what happened. They got moody, demotivated and selfish. When they gave them normal rations again they ate 8 times more than they did before the starvation exercise. Guess how many daily calories they got during starvation time - 1500. The same as most diets!)
