We're Still on LJ! A Multi-Fandom Friending Meme

Jan 17, 2012 12:45

Since a lot of us are noticing the empty spaces in our friendslists that were once filled with talkative, active posters- I figured I'd use my icon journal to start a multi-fandom friending meme for those of us still active on Livejournal to find others that are still around in our fandoms.

Oh gosh, I remember reading The Phantom Stallion when I was younger. Is that series still ongoing?

The Phantom Stallion ended at 24 volumes, but Terri Farley continued with Wild Horse Island (one of the HARP girls from a later volume is the focus). I didn't continue with that series because I was very in love with Sam's character and the setting, and couldn't bear to continue with another girl in Hawaii. Or something. So I'm not sure if that one is complete or not, but I don't know if it would have been as long as the original considering the setting and all. Bit different from Nevada. :'(

Aww yeah, I wouldn't have been able to move on either :'( Although Hawaii, whaaat?! There are no wild stallions here! Well, maybe on some other island...o-o The series was the source of some very fond childhood memories, though. It was because of it that I wrote my first letter to a state representative! xD

Yeah, something about taking a rescued mustang to Hawaii, and a grandmother that was apparently a horse whisperer... Sounded like it was more horse-magic than horse-sense, and I kinda shied away from that, lol.

I reread it every so often, ahaha. And that's awesome that it made you write to a state representative. :D The only things I really got out of it were the two letters that Terri Farley wrote to me after I wrote her :D It was really awesome that she wrote back, and it's only now that I really understand how amazing it was that she did that. :)

Heck, I might write her again just to tell her how much I liked the series when I was younger and how I still read it over...
