Chapter Summery Matt and Kurt ‘Hang Out’

Kurt Hummel had no clue as to why Matt would want to ‘hang’ out with him but personally he kind of liked that notion after all there had always something about that slightly shy jock from glee club that intrigued him.

Letting out a sigh as he adjusted the hem of the Marc Jacobs sweater he had been wearing Kurt was looking around his basement bedroom at the nice little set up he had going on for them.

Popcorn, soda (for Matt), sparkling water (for him) and his vast collection of DVD’s yes the backdrop was perfect now he just hoped the jock didn’t have second thoughts on hanging out with him.

Matt most definitely wasn’t having second thoughts as he approached the Hummel home and knocked on the door.

Seconds later he was greeted by a smiling Carole Hudson.

“Matt,” the woman said with a smile, “Finn’s not here…he’s with Rachel I believe.”

“That’s alright, I’m here to see Kurt.”

“Oh,” she said slightly shocked, after all she didn’t think her son’s friend even talked to her almost step son outside of glee club, “hold on a moment.”

He watched the woman walk away, obviously confirming his presence with the young man of the house.

Walking back to the doorway seconds later Carole nodded.

“Kurt apparently has been expecting you,” she said still slightly in shock, “he’s down in the basement.”

Matt just nodded as he headed inside the house and down the stairs into Kurt’s basement bedroom.

He paused at the sight of the young man he had been crushing on.

Even for veging out to see a movie he looked good.

“So,” Matt said with a smile, “what are we watching?”

“I’m glad you asked.”

As Matt took a seat on the navy blue futon in his newly redecorated room, Kurt walked away for a moment coming back with a few sheets of paper in his hand.

“I thought we decided I’d come over to see a movie?” Matt said not that he wouldn’t mind Kurt wanting to do something else.

“Oh we are Matthew, we are,” Kurt said holding out one of the pieces at his companion, ‘100 movies to see before you die…I figured we could pick something from the list…and since you’re my guest it’s your choice, ‘All Time Greats’ or ‘Modern Classics’?

Matt paused for a moment.

All Time Greats was probably the time of movies eat and breathed, movies that played on occasion at the old historic theater in downtown Lima that he’d meant to go see but never had. Modern Classics on the other hand…

“I’m waiting Matthew, pick a list.”

“Modern Classics.”

Kurt smiled approvingly of the list picked.

“Ok so here is a list of the crème de la crème of cinema from 1990 through 2009, your pick what movie do you want to see?”

Matt took the list of movies that Kurt handed him and began to read it over.

Since when was simply seeing a movie turning out to be a production?

Then again with his company…

Snapping back to reality he looked at the list that definitely ranged in the genres it showcased.

“I don’t know… Shaun of the Dead?”

“Why?”

“Why Not? I love this movie… Mike and I watch it all the time.”

“Then why don’t you just call Mike and go see it with him, because I refuse to watch some stupid zombie movie.”

“Shaun of the Dead is NOT just some stupid Zombie movie…you take it back.”

In Matt’s mind this would be where Kurt would toss popcorn at him and they would have a little popcorn fight culminating in a passionate kiss however this wasn’t Matt’s mind and instead Kurt crossed his arms.

“Fine, I think Finn has this movie anyway… and after this I get to pick what we watch no questions asked… got it.”

Matt nodded as Kurt headed upstairs to fetch the DVD.

Kurt was genuinely laughing as the movie ended.

“So, how did you like that ‘stupid’ zombie movie Kurt?”

Kurt turned from his seat and looked over to Matt with a small semblance of a smile on his face before breaking out and laughing.

“Oh my god you were right… it was brilliant… purely brilliant…” a mischievous smile crossed his lips, “hey Matthew.”

“Yea.”

“ Who died and made you fucking king of the zombies?”

Matt just let out a laugh at Kurt’s random quoting of the movie. He smiled… a quote off was so on and soon one of the many Shaun and Ed dialogues that he and Mike would randomly recite popped into his head.

“Shaun, what's going on?”

Matt paused waiting for Kurt’s response.

The fashionable young male simply shook his head.

“Shit, it’s engaged!.”

“How about an ambulance?”

“It’s engaged Ed.”

“A fire Engine?”

“It’s one number, Ed, and it's busy! Okay? What you want a fire engine for, anyway?”

“Anything with flashing lights,” Matt said trying to keep a strait face, “you know?”

By now the two boys were in giggles and they hoped that Carole didn’t come down to see what the noise was about.

“Ok,” Kurt said picking up the list, “now let’s get down to some serious business… my movie pick.”

~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-

He was grateful that Kurt had accepted and ultimately enjoyed the movie that he had picked but thinking of the eclectic list of movies on the list spanning from numerous genres it would definitely be a surprise as to what Kurt would choose.

“And my pick is…Clueless.”

“Clueless, of coarse it would be Clueless.”

There was a long silence as Matt was preparing himself to watch the movie however he was greeted with Kurt’s laughter.

“What’s so funny?”

“The look on your face when I said I wanted to see Clueless.”

“But it’s on the list.”

“I know that or I wouldn’t of said it….anyway my real pick is The Dark Knight.”

“As in Batman.”

Kurt nodded as a smile crossed Matt’s lips.

“I love you,” he blurted out as he instantly regretted it as he watched Kurt give him a deer in the headlights kind of look.

“I meant for choosing an awesome movie,” Matt clarified although he did mean those three words in every sense of it’s other meaning as well.

Kurt flashed a smile.

“I just thought that it would be appropriate seeing as how you’re my own private personal Bruce Wayne,” he said with a smile.

Matt’s heart skipped a beat at that comment in reference to that day in the locker rooms as Kurt headed over toward the DVD player and popped the movie in.

Soon silence filled the room as both boys leant back to watch the move.
