Notes/Disclaimers Ok this piece is obviously set AU where Starr is still a HS senior…inspired by dialogue from Starr’s ‘What If’…lyrics used ‘Little Starr’ from OLTL’s cannon
Summery Starr isn’t a normal teenager and she wouldn’t have it any other way…
Starr Manning looked at the clock on the Llanview High library rolling her eyes as she listened to the banter that had befallen her World History study group a good twenty minutes ago:
“So I am team Edward,” her best friend and cousin Langston Wilde was saying to the group of other Llanview High seniors who were seated round the table, “and my boyfriend Markko is team Jacob…”
“Dump him,” one of the girls bluntly said causing Starr to shake her head as she thought about the fact that Langston already had a guy on the side though that wasn’t here nor there.
She couldn’t believe those girls were talking about some stupid vampire books that they had already read like five times already. Didn’t they care about their grades?
Well Starr had and she had only agreed to this meeting so that she could prove to herself, her family, and her classmates that she could be a teen mother and still retain her 4.0 GPA, something she wouldn’t be able to do without this study session.
Letting out a sigh she moved her eyes between her notes for the final exam and her copy of ‘How to Train Your Toddler’ before looking up at the clock once more…. she was going to be late and she hated to be late.
“Um,” Starr said looking up at the group of chattering girls, “never mind.”
She figured she could text Langston later to tell her the reason she had left, not that Langston didn’t already know of the deadline she had been on that afternoon.
Of all the days for her large albeit dysfunctional family to all be busy today had to be it.

She sucked in a breath of air as she made her way down the halls of the Angel Square community center where the nursery that her daughter Hope attended daycare was.
Looking over at her watch she rolled her eyes as she quickened her pace.
In the moment it all seemed like one of those bad movies where the more she moved the father away her destination was.
She hated this, this being late….especially seeing as how she was the youngest mother of the group and judgment was almost always passed upon her as she entered the room. A judgment that would surely be passed on her again that day.
Why did those girls insist on talking Twilight again?
Closer closer and finally… she had reached her destination right in the nick of time as a handful of older mothers looked over to the doorway, looking at one another as if to silently gossip about Starr Manning, the rapist’s daughter…teen mom…
However all their glares and silent whispers melted away as she spotted the little blonde girl sitting in the corner of the room playing with her stuffed rabbit.
‘Ma-ma,” Hope murmured as Starr approached and scooped her daughter up, her face curling into a brilliant smile.
“Hi Hope, did you have a good day at daycare?”
The little girl nodded moving her toy to one hand while sticking her thumb in her mouth obviously tired.
It’s a night full of dreams-and wishes do come true….
Starr began to sing under her breath, a familiar tune her own mother had sung to her.
Theirs a sky full of stars-but only one like you-it takes years-it takes time-for the light to reach the earth and shine-look at you here you are-burning bright my little star….
Yep, despite anything and everything that had happened to her in her brief eighteen years on Earth being a mother was something she would never something she would regret.
