What Political Party Do Your Beliefs Put You In?

I have pictures from this weekend. I just realized that it's now thursday and I'm closer to the upcomming weekend than I am to the weekend previous. That's cool. I was able to spend time with a little foal this weekend. Technically, there were about eight of them, but one was really friendly and let me scratch...it. I don't know if it was a boy or a girl. I also spent four days at home. I haven't done that since Christmas, I think. But it seems somehow not as difficult over the winter holidays. I had an uncle insult me and then a co-worker of my mom's tried to do the "hey, i don't know you, but i'm going to make a joke at your expense that you can't really respond to in an effort to forge a bond." Ben said that I didn't even fake-laugh. Without going in to too much detail, I can say that people making jokes based on not-terribly-up-to-date stereotypes that UGA is some sort of "hick" school that I should be ashamed to admit working for need to reconsider and find some better material. Especially (and how's this for "the pot calling the kettle...") if they're living and working in Stockbridge, GA. I know it's the birthplace of Collective Soul, but aside from that, I can't find much that's overwhelmingly redeemable about it--and I've had a few years to study it. Also, old dudes who went to GT and are still battling some sort of deep-seeded insecurities about...i don't know what...need to think up something new to say. You want to know when I'm "ever going to leave Athens?" It will be when I find a place that's as great, if not better; and I will tell you, uncle living in Charlotte, North Carolina, that it won't be to whatever "it" suburb you're currently residing in.

Yeah. I'm a little sensitive about it.

Oh, and my brother graduated from high school. My mom is now a retired teacher. That's pretty fantastic. Now, if I can just get a beach-trip together, it will really feel like summer.

Also, a tiny apartment pool meant to be the watery respite for 50 people and their every-now-and-then guests doesn't hold up particularly well under the traffic of everyone, their kids, and their friend bob in the neighborhood. What was a pleasantly clean and clear pool last week, is now a cloudy, debris-ridden...pool of water. I appreciate the floats that people have left, but the dirty dixie cups full of old beer and cigarette butts, the dirty wet socks, and the beer cans are a bit much. It makes me feel like an old selfish person.
