I just watched Green Day's video for "Wake me up when September ends". The fact that they have enough money for a video like this with these flashy effects and this whole war scene means that they are, by definition, not punk. I c'mon, how did Billy Joe sing the lyric "here comes the rain again, falling from the stars" with a straight face? I cringe every time I hear this. Other than that, a fun song.
I saw Serenity, and I really liked it. I was worried going into it, because the one episode I saw on TV really, really, really boed me. Like, almost to tears. The movie, totally roxxxor.
Zoë: Do you really think any of us are getting out of here alive?
Jayne: Well, I might.
Malcolm: Do you want to run this ship?
Jayne: Yeah, I do.
Malcolm: Oh. [beat] Well, you can't!
I really love this movie. And I really want to watch "The Mask of Zorro" again. Tomorrow is another PLDC brief, and then I leave for Fort Hood for 15 days. I'll be back on 28 Oct. Shortly after that, I'll be at Ranger School for about 3 months.
