Copper Mouth

You haven't heard the news, though it loops incessantly.
The world is practically bowling you over, but you can't seem to pin it down.
I can't add it up in my head you say with a histrionic shrug.
Wake up! Shake off the meningal cobwebs; come out and see.

You have to wonder how you pervade the world.
Darwin should have something to say about ones like you.
Your head violates so many of Isaac's laws.
Nature abhors a vacuum, but that's not something you've heard.

Things aren't black and white, except shades of gray can't hold your attention.
The varying shades of gilt are far more charming with none of the former.
Everyone thinking has caught it, and those that aren't have bought it.
When I say it seems like your mind is elsewhere you just figure it's speech.

It's not.
