Northern Lights

Nov 07, 2004 22:45

Exiting the house late on november 7 to retrieve some cds from my mom's truck, i flipped on the porch lights and stepped into the frigid cool air of the early autumn. To the east, a light shone. I figured, at best, a bright moon.

After aquiring my cds, i looke dup again to see a streak of plae green dancing light ribbons from east to northwest...a heavenly beauty too difficult to comprehend. I stare dup in awe, mouth gaping open in astonishment. Never had i seen this before, nor had I seen its equal. At that point, i was glad I was wearing three socks on each foot, as the cold air mstarted to chill me to the bone.

I didn't care. I stared up and took it in.

After showing my mother, i found out that it was indeed the northern lights. And though I've lived here for a better part of twelve years...I have failed to notice it.

Funny ol' world, full of unexplained mysteries.
