SHMORN (chopped Austrian pancake)

SHMORN

Lightly beat 2 eggs and add about 1 ½ cup of water.

Stir in about 2 cups of flour and 1 tsp. of salt.

This should make a medium batter (like a thick pancake batter). Add more liquid if needed.

Melt several tbsp. of butter in a frying pan (NOTE: do not use a teflon pan).

Pour in all the batter and lightly brown on one side. Turn over and brown the other side.

Chop up with metal turner into bite size pieces.

Eat with home made plum jam.

Note: other jams may be used but the authentic taste we remember will not be the same without homemade plum jam.

Can also be eaten with sprinkled sugar and cinnamon.
