South of Nowhere Rec Post VII

So, this might be all fic and no vid (or maybe just one or two videos). And that is simply because my PC is a bitch - a bitch I love, but still a bitch. *nods*

And a little note: any fanfic I rec here, check on it at the opposing site (if my link takes you to FF.Net, check the fic at the Spencer & Ashley Forum... it might be finished at another site). :D

Yes?
Yes.

ANGST! LOTS OF IT! Got your attention? [lol]
At the Eleventh Hour is the kind of fic that makes me want to pull my hair out and cry and stay awake long hours. And that is a good thing.
Ashley Davies is an orphan and the Carlins become her latest family - and while the majority of them are quite accepting of a new member to the family, the one daughter in the Carlin clan is not. Sounds simple, I know... but it isn't.
This is an on-going fanfic, being updated sort of regularly. This story is the definition of timidity in action (which sounds contradictory, yes, but it works!) and of the strong fears that come with an inability/resistance to feel.
Go on - eat it up, kids.

Can't believe I haven't recced this before!
Dream Deferred finds our girls in high school (per the usual) and they are good friends... insanely good friends... good friends in the way that people who date are good friends... are you buying this? Yea, me neither.
Great amounts of angst follows poor Spencer Carlin as she falls hopelessly in love with her best friend, Ashley Davies. And the writing is exquiste, like a rich red apple that you've just got to taste. All the moments are tender and fleeting... of course, until they aren't. ;)
Still being updated, too!

Lifeline is actually so cool (and so unbelievable - lol) that I just have to rec it. At the start of Season Three, Ashley tries to get Spencer to go with her to Cabo, so they can 'hang out' (which means, in Ashley-speak, 'try to win you back with my millions of dollars'). And this story goes with this idea, slightly: Spencer agrees to go on a trip with Ashley, just not Cabo. They are heading for the Canadian woods to camped out with their issues... and things go horribly wrong.
I love stuff like this, I really do.
Written very well, good angst & a nicely paced progression of the characters.
Just overwhelmingly a good read. :)

Shallow Waters is one of those fanfictions that make me happy. Why? Because there is witty and introspective angst, banter and sharpness of tongue... but still sexy and still with all these undertones of love happening when (and where) you least expect it.
Spencer and Ashley meet on a blind date. And nothing - I mean nothing - is easy after that fact. Still going strong and being updated regularly... YES. :D

Ooh, want some super chemistry between characters and sexiness that cannot be denied, but to also have those qualities bookended by coming-out angst?
Line of Best Fit finds an older, in the world Spencer Carlin (and her best friend Madison) joining a gym. And there Spencer meets Ashley Davies, the woman who ends up rocking her world... in a lot of ways.
Well written. Deliciously sexy. And, of course, the path to true love (and lust) is never smooth.
Being updated as well.

Now, for some fluff - well, mostly fluff. Nothing in the Spashley world is pure fluff. And if it is... I rarely rec it [lol].
All I Want For Christmas finds Spashley being roommates! And they are quite content with that until the idea of their super-close friendship seeming kind of gay enters their world... and it changes everything.
Great writing, which is a usual thing with this author, and all the sexual tension/kissing/so forth is written so well... like REALLY well. ;D
Being updated.

These Oh, Kyla! vids are a real riot to me. For real. I just watch and giggle.
