Welcome to Iris' character survey aka where Becky rambles on and on about Iris! Do enjoy! Also please let me know if you see in spelling/punctuation/any other mistakes as I'm terrible at proof reeding my own work. (Did you see what I did thar?) Seriously guys you should have seen the first draft of my application...
Also, SPOILERS for Case 5 of Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations. Iris herself is pretty much a walking spoiler so...
Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
Iris is a little frail looking and thin. She’s a shorter than average for a woman at 155 cm, which I’m pretty sure is about 5’1 or 5’2.
2. How old is she? 25 years old give or take a few months. :D
3. Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch? Being a nun and a very obedient girl, I see her trying very hard to stand up straight. For the most part she succeeds, but she does slouch sometimes if she's feeling upset/pressured.
4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? Iris is very frail looking as mentioned above and as she doesn’t leave Hazakura much I can’t imagine her being in the best of shape. But Hazakura does offer some physically strenuous training. Whether she actually participates though is unclear. Besides her frail appearance she doesn’t seem to get sick easily or have any disabilities to speak of.
5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? Although we don't get to see her move in the games, I would call her graceful. Her way of speaking and her movements would probably match. However if she’s in a hurry to go somewhere/get away from someone she can move pretty rapidly (like in 3:5 when she’s trying to get away from Phoenix).
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror? Iris is very pretty and certainly prettier than average. However, my head canon says Iris doesn't have much self confidence and therefor doesn't really see herself as pretty. She isn't too concerned about her physical appearance at all and she wouldn't be the type to look in the mirror excessively.
7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred? Iris is pale, and this is only accentuated by her dark hair. Her skin in clear, and unscarred as far as I can see.
8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style. Iris’ hair is normally black, but I assume she dyes it red to fool Feenie into thinking she was Dahlia during Dahlia's college days. I would imagine her hair is very silky and soft. She braids her hair in two braided strands at the top of her head, much like a crown. This style is identical to her sister's.
9. What color are her eyes? Dark brown or black.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? Iris doesn’t have a very large range of facial expressions. Finding icons for her was a PAIN. She’s usually fairly laid back and cheerful and would be happy to talk to anyone who approaches her.
11. What are her chief tension centers? I would say her cheeks-because she smiles and laughs so often.
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit?
Iris is usually in her Hazakura outfit. It’s…pretty strange for everyday clothing, but she almost never leaves the temple, unlike Maya, so I don’t think she gets any strange looks. When she was masquerading as Dahlia, Iris wore Dahlia’s clothing-a white and pink sun dress-and carried a parasol.
13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them? Yes, I would think Iris’ Hazakura garb was made especially for her. She doesn’t seem to care about clothing much but she probably feels most comfortable in her normal outfit.
14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in his free time? If not, what are the differences? Yep, pretty much. Iris "works" as a nun and this requires her to be in that same outfit very often. We never see her out of her Hazakura outfit in game.

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? We don’t actually hear her voice in game but I would imagine it’s a little high-pitched with an innocent tone. I also like to think that her voice reflects her emotions very well. She has a habit of stuttering when she’s very nervous (as seen when she meets Phoenix [again] in 3:5)
2. How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate? Iris is normally an even and calm speaker, but as mentioned above, she does stutter when she’s nervous. Iris can talk easily, especially when she’s comfortable with who she’s speaking with, but she tends to think things through a little when speaking normally. When she’s upset she tends to speak more rapidly and not think as much about what’s she’s saying.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? Well, she’s Californian if that helps but I don’t see her saying “like” or “hella” in conversation. Iris tends to speak a little formally, and is always polite towards those she’s speaking to.
4. What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency? She speaks English, and is perfectly fluent. Although she is Californian, she doesn't seem to have an accent. Then again, I'm Californian so maybe I'm just missing it.
5. Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations? Nope!
6. Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words? She can speak on the fly, but she prefers to think about what she’s going to say before she says it. That doesn't mean she doesn't speak on the spot often.
7. Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? She’s a eloquent speaker. In my mind, her emotions are really expressed in her tone of voice. This is accentuated when she's feeling an extreme emotion.
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart? I would say Iris is around average intelligence. She isn’t stupid, but she can be naïve, and the time she’s spent at Hazakura has made her a little sheltered about certain things, such as technology. Because of this, she’d have to be book-smart. Her street-smarts are pretty non-existent.
2. Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate? If I had to pick one, I would say Iris tends to think on her feet. She follows her heart and her emotions rather than her head in some instances.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? Iris is intuitive for sure as she tends to think with her heart and not her head. She’s a little naïve but she has the ability to see the good in everyone. She's also very idealistic; she wants to think the best of everyone and everything.
4. What kind of education has the character had? Iris did attend college for a while when she was pretending to be Dahlia, but whether she went to school herself is unknown. Besides attending Ivy University, Iris has spent much of her life at Hazakura Temple, so it’s unlikely she had a complete formal education.
5. What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about? Iris knows a lot about spiritual training, as shown by her ability to break physical “pychelocks” and her occupation as a nun. Besides this however, it is unclear how much she knows. I see her as the ever curious type.
6. Is she an introvert or an extrovert? She tends to want to keep her emotions bottled up inside, but if something surprises or upsets her, it’s pretty easy to tell.

I had a hard time finding sprites of her with extreme emotions ahaha She's pretty cheerful and is almost always laid-back unless she is VERY passionate about something or someone (ie. Anything to do with Feenie, Dahlia, or someone she cares about.)
8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? She’s pretty cheerful and relaxed normally but can be easily upset and confused if something bad happens/the wrong subject is brought up/etc. .
9. Is she more likely to act, or to react? React for sure. Iris doesn't have the confidence to act for herself unless she's really determined.
10. Which is her default: fight or flight? Flight, for sure. Iris is the type to not only dislike fighting but wonder why people would fight in the first place.
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? She doesn’t mind jokes at all, and she rather enjoys Larry’s brand of humor. She will always laugh at a joke, either because she really finds it funny or because she’s trying to be polite. I don’t think she’d appreciate cruel jokes or bathroom humor though.
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them? Not really. She’s a bit dependent on others and is greatly affected by the whole “My sister is a crazy loon” thing but…other than that, not really!
13. What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person?
Oh boy….
1) Well, I’d say the moment that has defined her most would be the six months in which she dated Phoenix. During this time, not only did she fall in love with Phoenix but she gained the courage to stand up to her sister.
2) Another would have to be when she was abandoned by her father at Hazakura Temple. It caused her to have a great fear of abandonment see next question and in order to prevent being abandoned she tries her hardest to do whatever her loved ones want of her. It also allowed her to meet Sister Bikini, who is essentially her mother figure.
14. What does she fear? Iris’ greatest fear is that her sins-her deception of Phoenix-will be discovered and that he, and her new found friends on Route will despise her because of them. Another fear she has is a fear of abandonment and that she has no self worth. These fears have mostly been generated by her relationship with her family.
15. What are her hopes or aspirations? Iris wants the chance to explain herself to Phoenix and to gain his friendship. She also wants to make as many friends here on Route as possible, because she wasn’t given very many chances to do so before because of her secluded life.
16. What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her?
See Number 14 Iris is deathly afraid that someone will discover her deception of Phoenix and so, is very secretive about her life as well as her connection to Dahlia. As she gets to know someone, she will generally stop clamming up quite so much but there are very few people she has told the whole story too.
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with her parents.
It isn’t a very good one. Iris was born to Morgan Fey and an unknown husband. Her father leaves Morgan and takes Iris, and her twin Dahlia, to live with him. But, when he remarries and discovers his new wife has a daughter as well, he decides two daughters are enough and abandons Iris at Hazakura Temple. So overall, although Iris will always love her parents, they do not share the same sentiment.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
Yes, unfortunately for her. Iris has a twin sister named Dahlia, and they have perhaps the strangest and saddest sibling relationship I’ve ever seen. Dahlia is as I described her previously “a crazy loon” and that’s not an understatement. Dahlia has attempted murder several times, and succeeded in some attempts as well. She has often used Iris as an accomplice for her crimes and because of Iris’ dependency and loyalty to her sister, she often goes along with her sister’s crimes.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand?
Not really. She does have a half-sister, Pearl Fey, and is cousins with Maya and Mia Fey. However, she is unaware of this connection, as she is unaware of Pearl's linage and prefers to keep it a secret that she is of Fey blood. The only family member she comes close to hating is Dahlia, but she can never truly bring herself to hate her sister despite her crimes.
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of his family? What are her relationships with them?
Iris does consider Sister Bikini a mother figure. So far on Route she’s just getting to know everyone so she has made several friends, but no one she would consider family quite yet. Oh yeah, and Phoenix Wright is pretty much family, although more in the "I love you" sense then the "brotherly" sense.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
Iris doesn’t have a best friend, really, as she is very secluded from the world. However, if she had to name someone, it would probably be Phoenix. Although at this point, Phoenix is unaware of this, Iris did spend six months dating him and during this time, she fell in love with him. He is really the only person she’s ever really considered a friend in canon. Here on route she is already fast friends with Larry Butz and Miles Edgeworth and she’s also starting to warm up to several other people as well.
6. Does she have other close friends?
Well, not canon wise but she is starting to make many new friendships here on Route. :D
7. Does she make friends easily, or doess he have trouble getting along with people?
She gets along with people very well, as she has a naturally kind and welcoming personality. However, she doesn’t have many truly close friends because she has lived at the Temple nearly all her life.
8. Which does she consider more important: family or friends?
….It depends really. She is extremely loyal to her sister, above nearly everything else. However, she would betray her sister if it meant the safety of those closest to her. So I would have to say friends.
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once?
Single, and probably always will be unless Phoenix returns her feelings. She is blind to pretty much every attempt to court her unless its Phoenix doing the courting. (Sorry Larry.)
10. Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
Nope and even if she had a spouse, she would never cheat on them.
11. Who was her first crush? Who is her latest?
Her first crush was of course, Phoenix Wright. And her latest is...Phoenix Wright. She’s pretty devoted as far as romance goes.
12. What does she look for in a romantic partner?
Phoenix Wright Iris looks for someone who is kind and sweet, with a nice sense of humor. She wants someone she can talk to and someone she can feel comfortable around. She certainly doesn't care about fashion sense. After all, she fell in love with this loser.
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does she relate to them? If no, does she want any?
She has neither children nor grandchildren. I think Iris would be a lovely mother, but she’d only want children if she could raise them with the person she loves. She does tend to dote on everyone she cares about though.
14. Does she have any rivals or enemies?
Dahlia sort of falls under both categories but then, Iris has never really considered her either one of these.
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the Kinsey scale?
Iris is pretty much as straight as straight could be. I think she’d probably be a 0 honestly. I really don’t see her dating a woman, although she would be tolerant.
16. How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her?
Iris…isn’t the type to think about sex. She’s a bit sheltered in this regard. Iris would describe sex as something to be shared with two people who are truly in love. She would also be the type to wait until marriage for this sort of thing unless she really feels that the someone she’s with is the one.
17. What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
Honestly, all Iris could care about is being with the person she loves. That’s about it really.
Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does she fit type?
Based on her birth year, which is 1993, she’d be either the Monkey or the Rooster. Her personality doesn’t really fit either of those, as she isn’t really that self-assured or decisive. We don’t know what month Iris was born in, but I think she’d be a Pisces based on her personality (which just so happens to be what I am as well.) Check it out; it’s pretty much Iris in a nut shell.
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in her life?
Iris is a nun at Hazakura Temple. However, she has started that she hates even the idea of spirit channeling. She is somewhat spiritual it seems as she is able to break physical “psychelocks” and became a nun to atone for her “sins” involving her assistance of Dahila and Phoenix’s betrayal. However, it is unclear just what her beliefs are.
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
Iris does whatever is necessary to help and protect her friends and family. Whether that means pretending to be someone she’s not or helping her sister hide a piece of critical evidence, she’ll do it. She’ll feel guilty afterwards, but she can’t bring herself to “betray” anyone she cares about by not helping them.
4. How does she regard beliefs that differ from her’s? Is she tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
She’s pretty tolerant and curious. I would think that she admires those that have the courage to stand up for what they believe in and form their own opinions about what is right.
5. What prejudices does she hold? Are they irrational or does she have a good reason for them?
She doesn’t really have any prejudices. Iris is really open and kind towards everyone. Mass murder? Doesn’t matter. She is however, frightened of those that would betray or abandon her and is reluctant to divulge her secrets to anyone she doesn't know well.
Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is she rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
Iris is a nun at Hazakura Temple. She is pretty comfortable having three square meals a day, but does not spend money at all. The only thing she’s really spent her money on that we know of is a cell phone for emergencies (not including the time she spent with Phoenix in college.)
2. What is her social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected her?
Iris was born to Morgan Fey, the eldest daughter of the current Master of the family. Therefore, by birthright Morgan should have become the next master and gained not only power but political standing as well. But when her mother lost her status to her younger sibling, Misty Fey, it was clear Morgan would never have any sway in the temple. When Iris was taken from the temple and abandoned at Hazakura, she gained some sway there, becoming Bikini, the head nun at Hazakura,’s assistant and helping to run the temple. However, this is not a position of real wealth and status and she doesn’t get paid for her efforts. She doesn’t seem to like her work very much either, doing it more out of necessity then for pleasure. Her lack of power doesn't seem to bug her much, unlike her sister and her mother.
3. Where does she live? House, apartment, trailer? Is her home her castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does she share it with others?
Iris lives, once again, at Hazakura Temple. She shares the place with other nuns although she does have her own bedroom. She almost never leaves the Temple and therefore, has no real friends she could invite to visit. The only guests she receives are people there to increase their spiritual powers.
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does she spend her money on?
Iris is very frugal. She almost never spends her money and when she does, it is on things that have a practical function. For example, she does own a cell phone to be used in an event of an emergency. Her frugal behavior stems from her lack of real money, and as a result of her occupation. I think Iris would enjoy shopping from time to time if she wasn’t wearing the same clothing constantly.
5. What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would she rather be doing something else?
She’s a nun at Hazakura Temple. (How many times do I need to tell you this?!) She's good at what she does as she’s a hard worker and listens to directions well. However, she hates her work and only continues to do what she’s doing to purify her soul.
6. What are her interests or hobbies? How does she spend her free time?
Iris doesn’t have any free time and its unknown if she even has interests or hobbies. I like to think she sows and knits from time to time, as she did make the pink sweater for Phoenix, although by the looks of it her fashion sense isn’t the greatest. Whatever she does , however, she puts her heart and soul into, and it really shows.
7. What are her eating habits? Does she skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
Iris is never described when she’s eating in game so…My Iris is the delicate eater type. She barely picks at her food and this contributes to her frail figure. She also seems the type to punish herself by starving herself if she feels she’s failed in something. That said, Hazakura Temple is known for its hearty meals and the Fey family is known for their appetite (or at least in Maya's case)…

I had a hard time finding sprites of her with extreme emotions ahaha She's pretty cheerful and is almost always laid-back unless she is VERY passionate about something or someone (ie. Anything to do with Feenie, Dahlia, or someone she cares about.)
8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? She’s pretty cheerful and relaxed normally but can be easily upset and confused if something bad happens/the wrong subject is brought up/etc. .
9. Is she more likely to act, or to react? React for sure. Iris doesn't have the confidence to act for herself unless she's really determined.
10. Which is her default: fight or flight? Flight, for sure. Iris is the type to not only dislike fighting but wonder why people would fight in the first place.
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? She doesn’t mind jokes at all, and she rather enjoys Larry’s brand of humor. She will always laugh at a joke, either because she really finds it funny or because she’s trying to be polite. I don’t think she’d appreciate cruel jokes or bathroom humor though.
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them? Not really. She’s a bit dependent on others and is greatly affected by the whole “My sister is a crazy loon” thing but…other than that, not really!
13. What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person?
Oh boy….
1) Well, I’d say the moment that has defined her most would be the six months in which she dated Phoenix. During this time, not only did she fall in love with Phoenix but she gained the courage to stand up to her sister.
2) Another would have to be when she was abandoned by her father at Hazakura Temple. It caused her to have a great fear of abandonment see next question and in order to prevent being abandoned she tries her hardest to do whatever her loved ones want of her. It also allowed her to meet Sister Bikini, who is essentially her mother figure.
14. What does she fear? Iris’ greatest fear is that her sins-her deception of Phoenix-will be discovered and that he, and her new found friends on Route will despise her because of them. Another fear she has is a fear of abandonment and that she has no self worth. These fears have mostly been generated by her relationship with her family.
15. What are her hopes or aspirations? Iris wants the chance to explain herself to Phoenix and to gain his friendship. She also wants to make as many friends here on Route as possible, because she wasn’t given very many chances to do so before because of her secluded life.
16. What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her?
See Number 14 Iris is deathly afraid that someone will discover her deception of Phoenix and so, is very secretive about her life as well as her connection to Dahlia. As she gets to know someone, she will generally stop clamming up quite so much but there are very few people she has told the whole story too.
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with her parents.
It isn’t a very good one. Iris was born to Morgan Fey and an unknown husband. Her father leaves Morgan and takes Iris, and her twin Dahlia, to live with him. But, when he remarries and discovers his new wife has a daughter as well, he decides two daughters are enough and abandons Iris at Hazakura Temple. So overall, although Iris will always love her parents, they do not share the same sentiment.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
Yes, unfortunately for her. Iris has a twin sister named Dahlia, and they have perhaps the strangest and saddest sibling relationship I’ve ever seen. Dahlia is as I described her previously “a crazy loon” and that’s not an understatement. Dahlia has attempted murder several times, and succeeded in some attempts as well. She has often used Iris as an accomplice for her crimes and because of Iris’ dependency and loyalty to her sister, she often goes along with her sister’s crimes.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand?
Not really. She does have a half-sister, Pearl Fey, and is cousins with Maya and Mia Fey. However, she is unaware of this connection, as she is unaware of Pearl's linage and prefers to keep it a secret that she is of Fey blood. The only family member she comes close to hating is Dahlia, but she can never truly bring herself to hate her sister despite her crimes.
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of his family? What are her relationships with them?
Iris does consider Sister Bikini a mother figure. So far on Route she’s just getting to know everyone so she has made several friends, but no one she would consider family quite yet. Oh yeah, and Phoenix Wright is pretty much family, although more in the "I love you" sense then the "brotherly" sense.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
Iris doesn’t have a best friend, really, as she is very secluded from the world. However, if she had to name someone, it would probably be Phoenix. Although at this point, Phoenix is unaware of this, Iris did spend six months dating him and during this time, she fell in love with him. He is really the only person she’s ever really considered a friend in canon. Here on route she is already fast friends with Larry Butz and Miles Edgeworth and she’s also starting to warm up to several other people as well.
6. Does she have other close friends?
Well, not canon wise but she is starting to make many new friendships here on Route. :D
7. Does she make friends easily, or doess he have trouble getting along with people?
She gets along with people very well, as she has a naturally kind and welcoming personality. However, she doesn’t have many truly close friends because she has lived at the Temple nearly all her life.
8. Which does she consider more important: family or friends?
….It depends really. She is extremely loyal to her sister, above nearly everything else. However, she would betray her sister if it meant the safety of those closest to her. So I would have to say friends.
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once?
Single, and probably always will be unless Phoenix returns her feelings. She is blind to pretty much every attempt to court her unless its Phoenix doing the courting. (Sorry Larry.)
10. Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
Nope and even if she had a spouse, she would never cheat on them.
11. Who was her first crush? Who is her latest?
Her first crush was of course, Phoenix Wright. And her latest is...Phoenix Wright. She’s pretty devoted as far as romance goes.
12. What does she look for in a romantic partner?
Phoenix Wright Iris looks for someone who is kind and sweet, with a nice sense of humor. She wants someone she can talk to and someone she can feel comfortable around. She certainly doesn't care about fashion sense. After all, she fell in love with this loser.
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does she relate to them? If no, does she want any?
She has neither children nor grandchildren. I think Iris would be a lovely mother, but she’d only want children if she could raise them with the person she loves. She does tend to dote on everyone she cares about though.
14. Does she have any rivals or enemies?
Dahlia sort of falls under both categories but then, Iris has never really considered her either one of these.
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the Kinsey scale?
Iris is pretty much as straight as straight could be. I think she’d probably be a 0 honestly. I really don’t see her dating a woman, although she would be tolerant.
16. How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her?
Iris…isn’t the type to think about sex. She’s a bit sheltered in this regard. Iris would describe sex as something to be shared with two people who are truly in love. She would also be the type to wait until marriage for this sort of thing unless she really feels that the someone she’s with is the one.
17. What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
Honestly, all Iris could care about is being with the person she loves. That’s about it really.
Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does she fit type?
Based on her birth year, which is 1993, she’d be either the Monkey or the Rooster. Her personality doesn’t really fit either of those, as she isn’t really that self-assured or decisive. We don’t know what month Iris was born in, but I think she’d be a Pisces based on her personality (which just so happens to be what I am as well.) Check it out; it’s pretty much Iris in a nut shell.
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in her life?
Iris is a nun at Hazakura Temple. However, she has started that she hates even the idea of spirit channeling. She is somewhat spiritual it seems as she is able to break physical “psychelocks” and became a nun to atone for her “sins” involving her assistance of Dahila and Phoenix’s betrayal. However, it is unclear just what her beliefs are.
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
Iris does whatever is necessary to help and protect her friends and family. Whether that means pretending to be someone she’s not or helping her sister hide a piece of critical evidence, she’ll do it. She’ll feel guilty afterwards, but she can’t bring herself to “betray” anyone she cares about by not helping them.
4. How does she regard beliefs that differ from her’s? Is she tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
She’s pretty tolerant and curious. I would think that she admires those that have the courage to stand up for what they believe in and form their own opinions about what is right.
5. What prejudices does she hold? Are they irrational or does she have a good reason for them?
She doesn’t really have any prejudices. Iris is really open and kind towards everyone. Mass murder? Doesn’t matter. She is however, frightened of those that would betray or abandon her and is reluctant to divulge her secrets to anyone she doesn't know well.
Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is she rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
Iris is a nun at Hazakura Temple. She is pretty comfortable having three square meals a day, but does not spend money at all. The only thing she’s really spent her money on that we know of is a cell phone for emergencies (not including the time she spent with Phoenix in college.)
2. What is her social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected her?
Iris was born to Morgan Fey, the eldest daughter of the current Master of the family. Therefore, by birthright Morgan should have become the next master and gained not only power but political standing as well. But when her mother lost her status to her younger sibling, Misty Fey, it was clear Morgan would never have any sway in the temple. When Iris was taken from the temple and abandoned at Hazakura, she gained some sway there, becoming Bikini, the head nun at Hazakura,’s assistant and helping to run the temple. However, this is not a position of real wealth and status and she doesn’t get paid for her efforts. She doesn’t seem to like her work very much either, doing it more out of necessity then for pleasure. Her lack of power doesn't seem to bug her much, unlike her sister and her mother.
3. Where does she live? House, apartment, trailer? Is her home her castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does she share it with others?
Iris lives, once again, at Hazakura Temple. She shares the place with other nuns although she does have her own bedroom. She almost never leaves the Temple and therefore, has no real friends she could invite to visit. The only guests she receives are people there to increase their spiritual powers.
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does she spend her money on?
Iris is very frugal. She almost never spends her money and when she does, it is on things that have a practical function. For example, she does own a cell phone to be used in an event of an emergency. Her frugal behavior stems from her lack of real money, and as a result of her occupation. I think Iris would enjoy shopping from time to time if she wasn’t wearing the same clothing constantly.
5. What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would she rather be doing something else?
She’s a nun at Hazakura Temple. (How many times do I need to tell you this?!) She's good at what she does as she’s a hard worker and listens to directions well. However, she hates her work and only continues to do what she’s doing to purify her soul.
6. What are her interests or hobbies? How does she spend her free time?
Iris doesn’t have any free time and its unknown if she even has interests or hobbies. I like to think she sows and knits from time to time, as she did make the pink sweater for Phoenix, although by the looks of it her fashion sense isn’t the greatest. Whatever she does , however, she puts her heart and soul into, and it really shows.
7. What are her eating habits? Does she skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
Iris is never described when she’s eating in game so…My Iris is the delicate eater type. She barely picks at her food and this contributes to her frail figure. She also seems the type to punish herself by starving herself if she feels she’s failed in something. That said, Hazakura Temple is known for its hearty meals and the Fey family is known for their appetite (or at least in Maya's case)…
